Sorry about the grainy iPhone pictures but I figured something is better than nothing… and it’s been quite a while since we posted progress or pictures.
We are working on a possible BH trial in the spring & IPO later in the year. U-Rock is a natural in tracking & protection… when it comes to obedience, I have a few choice words, not suitable for print. Needless to say, at 15-months old, he is a complete teenager… everything is more interesting than my commands… be it a squirrel, a ball, other dogs… you all know the drill. However, when he listens, he is a complete pro. If I can only time the BH trial with U-Rock’s right frame of mind, life will be easy. 🙂
Long down… he is surprisingly quite good at laying there & does not take off after everything that moves. I still have him on a long leash until such time that I can trust him but, most of the time he falls asleep, basking in the sun.
Now, if he was always as focused as he is in this picture, we would be taking the BH tomorrow. I promised to show him this picture every time he messes up, to remind him that he can really do this……
He thinks protection is a big game and just loves it…. he picks up every new move so quickly that most of the training is for me instead of him.
Off the training track, he is a complete goof ball, funny, energetic, a pest to Lindy… eats like a horse (“Can I have more food… I cleaned my bowl & Lindy’s bowl…”), ball-destroyer & ball hoarder (they all have to be in a pile that he watches & then picks the one he wants to play with at that particular moment), a great frisbee catcher, a hugger & a kisser (to everyone, from kids to adults to ducks at the lake)… he plays hard & sleeps hard & is a total delight to have around (thanks Julie!).
I’ve been missing URock on the blog lately! He is so darned handsome. Both he and Max look like they are serious at SchH and protection work. Must be in the blood.
The focus heeling picture is lovely. Can’t believe they are 15 months already. Big hugs from me and U-Batman.
Orly,
I think the pictures are great! I very much appreciate them and the update on what you and U-rock have been up to. Keep up the good work!
Julie
Super to see U-Rock. He looks great. It looks like he is doing really well in his training.
Awesome! I think the day Roman turned 3 was the day the light went on in his brain…..ha ha!! Keep up the good work.
Good job with U-Rock—he looks great!
Be patient. He is doing super, looks great too!
Obedience is not easy, perfect obedience from a young dog is next to impossible. With their hormones and all the jazz, forgetaboutit!
Koda gets 2 lbs of food a day and he acts like I’m starving him, he does have a good waistline and staying under 88 lbs. His Vet says he has a heart of an athlete. I keep in shape so we don’t embarrass ourselves in front of the Mals and Dutchies at our club. 😉
I need to show Koda U-Rock’s long down asap!
Its great to see U-Rock!! Orly, you guys are doing great…send more pics!
He is so handsome. What an expressive face. Looks like you are holding down the Schutzhund fort for AT down south.
