Getting ready to go to the viewing today and not so ready to do this. Am looking forward to seeing some of you and those that can not make it, you are imbedded deep in David and my hearts. Having you in our hearts and those that are going to be visiting will see us thru this.I can not express how deeply David and I are to blessed to be part of the German Shepard Dog family and God put my family together with Julie. Julie changed Karens life and gave her strength to fight an impossible battle. When Karen talked to Julie on the phone, or in person a big smile was on her face. When Julie would call and say it is time, Karen was on her way to help bring another litter of GSD’s into this world. Smiling was something that she had a hard time doing and as a lot of you may have noticed, Karen had to stay in the van this last year and was not strong enough to make the walk to the field. It was a blessing that the training was done up on the hill so Karen could watch something she loved. I am devoting my life to my little big man and dedicating my shows next year to my best friend and Davids mommy. God Bless ALL and good bye for now. We love you all
How many litters did Karen help me with? I don’t even remember, but it was many. Bailey is getting ready to have her litter sired by Gavin, she is bigger then huge this time. It did cross my mind to call Karen and let her know Bailey was getting ready so she could be prepared to come over….but then I remembered. I told Bailey to please hold off until after the funeral.
This will be a long weekend for you Al, but it will be good for you. My advice to you is to take some Advil with breakfast and every 4 – 6 hours. The emotions will be running so high that you will get a stress headache. Do I need to bring some for you? It will be very hard to eat but you must force yourself to eat something.
Good advice from Julie. You need to take care of yourself, Al. And if you need some down time this weekend, don’t be afraid to take it. Sending good thoughts and love your way.
Al, though we never met you, Karen, and David in person, we are certainly thinking of you tonight and this weekend. Please do take care of yourself.
Al, you will find that despite a heavy heart and unbelievable pressure that a thing called ” the human spirit” will take over and you will function and step up to the plate in spite of it all, than after when your left to the quietness of your thought, you will not remember who or what you said to people, it’s like a defense mechanism…. than when the first of the scab on your heart is forming, you will find solace in the fact that your beloved is resting in heavenly peace….. that is when you discover that you are taking that first step towards the healing of your heart……
Hugs to you and may your love for Karen help you through this most difficult time in your life.
Al,
We can only imagaine how difficult this must be for you. Although we can not be there with you in person, we are with you in spirit.
Continue to stay strong and take extra good care of yourself and David.
Thinking of you,
Lynda and Jack
Al and David had matching purple shirts and ties and both looked very handsome. Karen was loved by many people and Al will have many people to lean on.
