Chica says:
Why go to the bother of cooking turkey for dinner? Look at all those feathers to pluck!
My preference is squirrel. It is a Camp Kayla tradition! It can be cooked on the stovetop…
or baked in the oven. The secret to baking in the oven is that your oven must be moved to the shade. That’s very important! Otherwise, the cook becomes too hot! Then let the squirrel rest before carving. You can do other things while it’s resting.
Oh crap!! Silvi is after the roasted squirrel!
No worry—Silvi can have some of the leftovers.
So there you have it. Eat a squirrel, save a turkey! 😉
Beautiful Turkey pictures! Especially this last one, magnificent!
I am so happy Chica has learned how to cook, bravo Carole.
She is so adorable! Great story telling with your pictures!
Thanks to Carole and Chica for the Thanksgiving cooking lesson. Squirrel? Who woulda thunk it? Does it taste like chicken?
Happy Thanksgiving to all the AT family.
Terri
