OK, Karen is now in OR for the 11th time. They could not stop the leak yesterday and so off to OR again and they are re-routing her insides to try to help the surgery, they did Saturday, to heal. They only have a couple more options they can do before they take the pancrius. They absolutely do not want to do that but it is a matter of saving Karen first and the pancrius after that. I beg for all the prayer warriors out there to completely cover her and the doctors with all the prayers. Lord, I am not doubting you but Lord give me the peace that passes all understanding. I am weak and you are strong. Lord, take Karen and I into your arms and comfort my fears( that do not come from you), the strength for Karen and the wisdom for the doc’s. Thank you Lord for all the prayer warriors out there and for putting them in Karen’s and my life. Thank you Lord for hearing my prayers. Amen and Amen.

God’s special blessings to you all, along with continued prayers for healing and comfort. I am so very thankful that you have a personal relationship with our Lord. I can’t imagine going through the storms of life without the hope and comfort only He can offer and provide.

The bad thing Jil is that I was weak, I was mad at God and tried to do this on my own and seen his sad eyes staring straight down at me waiting for me to surrender her and me, to him. To all those that try. It is impossible to go though tough times as well as every day life without him. Thank you and all that have lifted us up to God when I was not strong enough to do it. Love, Al

We are praying Al & Karen.

A prayer for strength:

Lord, you know me inside and out.

You know about my pain and distress,
you understand the fears of my heart.
At the cross you endured unabating agony.
You have gone before me into the darkness
And emerged in power and glory.

At this time I lean on You
I draw my strength from Your endless love
And live in Your limitless grace
Trusting in You. Amen

My best friend is out of surgery and went to recovery about 10 minutes ago. It was a tough surgery and Doc said with all the scar tissue, she cant have too many more surgery’s. The leak has been repaired and things have been re-routed. Hopefully leaking will stop but if not the leak will be more controllable and less harmful to her. Prayers have been answered in that aspect. It is back to nutrition and PT to get her strong enough to transfer her closer to home for care that is not acute. Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. You are all prayer warriors and could not of done this without first God and then family and friends. Thx

Al, I would like to ever so gently remind you to remember to also care for yourself. I know from experience that it’s easier said, than done. But it’s very important that you try to eat well, rest, stay hydrated, all of that stuff. It’s not selfish; on the contrary–it will help you help Karen even more.

Hydration is no problem. I have a lot of time to sit and drink.

Good advice, Jil. Please take a moment and take care of yourself, as well. You need to keep your strength up for Karen and your family. We can handle all the prayers while you get some rest.

Just want you to know that you both are included in our prayers. Sometimes the eternal nature of things unfold slowly but we know that God is with us. We just pray that He will watch over Karen and give you comfort and encouragement during this difficult struggle. Know that you are not alone!

Al this surgery is going to “stick” and do what it needs to do. Hang in there.
