Kali and Carolyn update (and Keeper)

I so wish I would have thought to take some pictures but I was so busy being impressed. Hopefully I will not embarrass Carolyn by telling her brags.

Yesterday I witnessed a beautiful site. Out on the training field was Carolyn with a very happy and focused Kali. I wish you could have seen how in sync these two were.

Some of you are aware of the difficult health challenges Carolyn has faced this past year. I can only say that Carolyn has amazed me with her quiet and graceful strength as she continues to face these challenges. She still is not back 100% but she has not let that stop her. Throughout the summer she has been on the training field with Kali. At first our club members offered to work Kali in obedience but Kali wanted mom and Carolyn could not sit by while someone else worked with her dog and each week would do what she could.

While Carolyn fusses about  the little details and worries that they are not perfect enough, the rest of us are in awe of their bond and Carolyn’s expert handling skills. What she has lost over the years physically she more than makes up for with her experience.

Kali is a wonderful dog and I know she is thrilled to share her life with Carolyn. I am honored to have the opportunity to know them both.

As a side note: Littermate Baki (a.k.a. Keeper) is doing awesome. Stan is doing a wonderful job with him and Baki has turned into a dynamic dog in protection. We had some experienced guests yesterday who plan to trial next week and they were very impressed with his strength on the field.

All in all the Alta-Tollhaus gang were very impressive yesterday.
