It was a quiet evening last night, so supper was served on the patio. Lily decided to make her rounds in the yard while we ate. The next thing I know she is in the Hosta’s Garden poking her nose under the big green leaves. Something jumped, she swatted it on the lawn and picked it up in her mouth. We couldn’t quite see what it was until she pranced by us and then we knew. It was a baby bunny. But she laid down on the lawn with her “puppy” and proceeded to lick it all over for a good 10 minutes. We weren’t sure if it was alive. Then Art called her over to us, and she left her “puppy”. As soon as she left the “puppy” the baby bunny ran away and left Lily hunting all over the yard last night looking for her “puppy”.
Julie, if anyone ever asks you about how “docile” your dogs are…send them this message. Lily is living proof that your GSD are the greatest line this side of the continent! God Bless you again and again for this wonderful dog you have sent me and Happy Birthday from all of us!
Kayla is very proud of her baby girl taking such good care of the bunny!
Awww!!! That is too sweet, Pam. Roman is very gentle, but not sure he’s that gentle!
That is too cute, no pictures? I am pretty sure Gavin would have had a bunny sandwich, he was raised by terriers after all. 🙂
Great story, that little bunny must have been drenched:) I’m thinking that this could be possible with Syd, but she leads with her teeth so I’m not exactly sure. If you were to ask Monty, he would say no, definitely no.
Sweet Lily has the best stories! I agree with you about the wonderful gentleness of Julie’s dogs, though I can’t guarantee that Batman would have been as humane with the little bunny!
