This past weekend, Brody had his first weekend away from home. He traveled to Grandma Julie’s place to help out. Too bad these are all taken with my phone, but it got the job done.
Priorities. The first thing to be done is find the big basket of toys.
Brody got reunited with Great Grandma Funny. She taught him some manners and also how to go up stairs.
Funny testing out Brody’s kennel. She thought it could use some tidying up, so she re-arranged his towel and checked out his elk antler too.
Then it was time to head outside and help with the kennels that came from all over from so many great people.
Funny supervising everyone. She runs a tight ship.
Funny gets back from a romp in the swamp. Brody thinks the swamp smells great!
Funny doing the “happy roll” to dry off from the swamp water.
After all that work, it’s time to lay down in the shade and take a nap.
Thanks to a gift certificate from John, owner of Alta-Tollhaus “Marshall”, the crew heads out for some much needed chow and some great brews. Pictured is Courtney (with her back to us) then clockwise from her: Jackie, Scott, Julie, Michelle and Pat.
Brody had a great time playing with Funny, Gavin, Willa and Pala, and I was very grateful to see every one of them healthy, happy, and running around. I gave all of the A-T dogs extra scratches and loving from the whole A-T family that I knew wished they could be there in person.
Its great to see everyone. Great job grandma Funny keeping the little one in line.
I am happy to hear about the rebuild. Keep the pictures coming for us Lee, it gives us a view of what’s going on there. I am so glad Julie has so many great friends that’s helping her.
Thanks for the update. I am also glad to see the support. The phoenix is rising.
Thank you so much, Lee. This absolutely made my day.
Give Julie and rest of the A-T family a HUGE hug from me and Batman.
Thank you all for being there for Julie.
Lee,
It is so nice to see Funny teaching Brody the ropes!
Thank you for sharing these pictures with the whole AT family, especially the one of everyone having a meal out. You all need time to relax and unwind with everything that has been going on. What a nice thing for John to do.
…you are right, we do wish we could be there in person to help out. It is great to see all the support and help Julie is getting from everyone in MI.
The compassion that has been shown to Tiffany and I has been tremendous. Life has dealt us some very hard blows lately but even so I feel very fortunate. I have the best friends anyone could have.
Thanks for posting as amid all the sadness reading about the fire it makes my heart smile to see Funny. In all the years of following the blog she has always been my favorite and I was so glad to see she is ok.
Thank you for sharing the photographs Lee. Great to see Funny and Brody together and of course the last photograph.
Lee I love these photographs they are simply delightful! When did you sneak that last photo at dinner?
Thank you John M. for dinner!
I snuck it in shortly before we headed to the outside table. I think we should make the Dark Horse a weekly tradition… so John is going to have to stock up on gift certificates.
I like the way you think!!
