Hailey is doing really good. Very, very energetic and on the go all the time. (sometimes driving me crazy – but she is also very sweet, very smart, and totally attached to me) After her heat cycle, she had a false pregnancy L – which is a new one for me. She actually got milk – and when my friend came over with her golden puppy – she was going to let him nurse on her…. I am glad we are over that but I do fear that she will do this again with her next heat cycle. She is 14 months old now – and very pretty, good bone and doing wonderful in her agility class. She seems to love it and learns so fast. She is doing full height A-frame and dog walk – and does a great job. She is also doing good with the jumps – I still keep them lower due to her age. Last night she was running so smooth on her little course – you would have thought she has been doing this a lot longer than 7 weeks. From day one she has never come off the dog walk or jumped off the A-frame – she is really pretty to watch. There is no hesitation for any of the obstacles that we have trained on. The instructors told me that she has excellent drive to her obstacles – and great attention to me! She was fun to work with – Towards the end when we ran our little courses – she ran so smooth – as long as I could direct her in time – she ran and jumped through her course like a pro.
I wasn’t sure that she was an A-T dog this past week though – we went to my friends cottage (on Hammond Bay – Lake Huron) and the first day she would not even get her feet wet – she didn’t like the waves at all – it was almost embarrassing – as my friends 4 month old golden puppy was running in the water – and playing. The next day – she did get her feet wet – and would run along the edge – I got her ball on a rope which she loves – and started throwing that in the shallow water – she finally thought that was fun and by the time we left she would go out in the water on her own – looking for driftwood to fetch……
Hailey is gorgeous… I can really see the Bailey in her!
Thanks Lee – she is also very smart and athletic. She is good with other dogs – loves people (cats are another story – somehow she thinks that they fall into the squirrel and rabbit category). And the best part is that she is very loyal and so attached to me! She is “my girl”.
She’s beautiful. My pup is in dry dock too. We took him in our pool once but he didn’t seem to like it and he keeps clear of the edge. I should get a kiddie pool and see if it’s any different, maybe he could dip his toes in that.
