Thanks for the great pictures Julie. I wasn’t expecting to see you at training so soon. Glad you are feeling better, just don’t overdo it.
This was a fun training session! Gustavo had us working on IPO 2 stuff and we had Peter there to help us. Peter trains dogs in Germany, so it was neat to get his feedback on Brady & our training. Hearing Peter’s feedback on Brady is the closest thing I will get to hearing an official IPO1 critique of our performance. After months of intensive training, our trial (that was scheduled for tomorrow) was canceled. It was probably for the best with the temperatures in the 100s the last few days; it wouldn’t have been safe for the dogs. However, it was a huge disappointment after all the hard work that we have put into it. On a positive note, I am always nervous and worried that we won’t do well or I’ll forget something in the routine, so it allows me more time to build my confidence. Sometime this fall, we’ll take that field and go after it!!
You are welcome Michelle. You will be ready for your IPO3 by this fall!

If you get your IPO1 done here is a breed survey. Bernd Weber is the judge and Koremeister. He is a very good judge — judges dogs and is not political in his placements—gives all the dogs a fair look and not influenced by who is on the other end of the leash. He has also judged at the Bundessieger show.

Michelle, you and Brady will do great when you do your trial. You are both ready! I’m glad that you were able to meet Peter—he is such a nice man and a Very Good German Shepherd person.
Julie, the next time you post pix of Mr. Brady, add one of his puppy flinging-spit shots for those who didn’t know him when he was a tyke. Brady is a natural!
Wendell Nope really would be a good person to trial under. Very nice!

Michelle, where did you get our national tee shirt?
It is safer for everybody that your trial was cancelled. Heat index tomorrow, they claim, will hit at least 115, which is too dangerous for people and dogs. And you will do a great job in the fall, when it is cool enough for both of you to concentrate.
HA, there are probably only three of us that know what Sisu means. when Michelle first wore that shirt I asked her if she was Finnish. She isn’t be the way.
Thank you for the url! That is definitely the right shirt for this sport. But we have to remember that it was intended for NORTH Europeans–we don’t do 115 degrees.

Michelle; What a great job you have done with Brady. He looks so impressive. You can rock the field when the weather cools off!

Ann,
You’re absolutely right about the heat and the trial.
My T-Shirt came from Rouge Fitness:

Thanks, Patti! I can’t wait to meet you & Fred (Xander) out at Gustavo’s.
Brady is such a handsome dog. He has such a powerful look in his pictures!! I just love these pictures.
Thanks, Susan. I always enjoy seeing your training shots from Camp Kayla.
Wow, Brady is a SUPER nice dog. He looks great out there — so handsome, and most important, it’s obvious he loves the work.
Great job, Michelle! And great pics, Julie!
