Although we had planned to go to Camp Kayla this Saturday, when we rented this historic beach home, everyone decided to come here instead. Pictured are my father and his girlfriend, from Ormond Beach. Our children and grand children will also be joining us here this weekend! If we aren’t “in the dog house” for missing camp, we hope to come at another time when we visit my Dad again.
Architect Bob Broward, recipient of AIA Award of Honor for lifetime achievement, designed this first A-Frame built on pilings in Florida to both adapt to its environment and resist hurricanes. He gave away the plans to various young couples who were altruistic and equally concerned with preservation. It is a privilege to enjoy its beauty and historic architecture, and, lucky for us, dogs are allowed, so Dutch is here, too!
eh—Barb and I can move Camp Kayla to the beach! Barb is already packing up her car! 🙂
Your Dad and Girlfriend make for a very handsome couple. Enjoy your time with your family. Hopefully we can meet up on your next vacation to Florida.
I wouldn’t want to leave, either!
I would not leave! So beautiful!!! Love the picture of Dad and his chica.
