Beverly, where are you staying in FL?

Since our condo in Sawgrass (Ponte Vedra Beach) is rented this month, we were “forced” to rent this pet-friendly oceanfront house between PVB and St. Augustine this week. I told the agent that I have a dog, and he said, “no problem – many of our guests have dogs.” Later, I read the pet policy states that dogs should be over a year old, and under 50 pounds! That is so ridiculous. If you look at the railing on the upper deck, you can see that a small dog could go right through it! Anyway, we’re here now, and super-friendly Dutch, with his impeccable manners, made a great impression. I think I’m going to add a pet clause to our Sawgrass vacation condo that restricts pets to those OVER 50 pounds!
We’re going to have our kids and grandkids here this weekend, so this romantic getaway will convert to family fun-for-all soon. Next week, we’re going further south to Ormond Beach, where we’ll be visiting my 88 year old father for a few days. He has so much energy, he’ll wear us out more than the grandchildren!
It’s most definitely related to his ridiculously optimistic attitude toward life. After the spectacle his 3 daughters made at Mom’s funeral, he said PLEASE don’t cry for me – I have had a WONDERFUL life and, if I die tomorrow, no regrets. He now has an 80+ year old girlfriend, and continues to travel, and keep a social calendar of a 30 yr old! I will go through his medicine cabinet next week and let you know if I discover any clues.

He is looking just beautiful, Beverly. I can’t see his face but he has great ears and coloring.
Thank you, Kelli! There’s no chance he’ll outperform Oso, but Dutch has been digging some very impressive holes at the beach! The surf here has been very high, and he is taking the waves like a champ!
Dutch, you are a VERY lucky boy! Have fun in Florida.

Beverly, will you be in Ormond Beach on the 26th? You should bring Dutch out to visit the Camp Kayla Saturday morning training session! DeLand is not far from Ormond. We’ll have an A-T pup photo shoot!

Carole, how exciting! I checked Mapquest, and I think it’s only 40 minutes away! We have to head back to MA on Saturday, but since the training session is Saturday morning, I’ll check with hubbie and see if we can leave later. It would be AWESOME to meet you, get the pups together, take pic’s, etc!

Carole, I think we can stay a little longer – that will be Memorial Day weekend, and it would be nice to avoid that traffic on our return home. Could you give me directions, time, etc.? Julie said (above) that she was camping in OH, and now she’s in FL…is she there, too? It would be so great to finally meet everyone we’ve heard so much about!
Oh, I wish I could be there! Beverly, you must experience Camp Carole, uh, I mean, Camp Kayla, where the women are strong, the men are good-looking, and all the furkids are far above average.
This is where the Batling cut his teeth, literally! Give Batty’s favorite aunties a big hug for us both.
I didn’t identify with it because we weren’t camping in OH – we’re a bunch of softies now, with our camping days only distant memories.
OK, I’ll just send you an email so you can reply with directions and details. We certainly don’t want half the country and its dogs descending upon you next weekend ready to party!

Yesterday I was camping in OH today I am in Florida. Gotta love it.
Does your Dd have any secrets to his good health and vigor?

I think all of Julie’s dogs have “rough” lives!

Beverly, you know I can’t give you directions on the blog. If I did that, the whole damn family would show up! 🙂
I thought Julie’s comment was referring to you and Dutch. No Julie—but you’ll have John, Barb, Susan and Scarlett.

LOL, too funny! We lived out there on the plains of North Dakota, not far from the heart of Prairie Public Radio. Believe me, it’s all true!!!
Dutch’s brief visit will probably be more fun and frolic than anything else, but that’s where we pleasure-seeking hedonistic retirees excel!
Jennie, come on down! We’d love to see you & Batman!

Knowing Barb, she has probably sent out the invitations! She and Syd are such the party girls.
Let’s just say, I have a few surprises:)))
Beverly, it is such a shame poor Dutch has to be dragged around the country like that. He suffer so much. LOL. Hope you are all having a good time.
