These are some photos I snapped of Nikon earlier this week after doing obedience. The light was uneven so I was experimenting with shade vs. sunlight. Nikon is so black and red I have to de-saturate all my photos!
This morning Nikon and Pan both passed their ADs and Pan passed his BH. I believe Dale and Millie did the AD too! Nikon will do his breed survey this fall.
Congratulations Lies!! Both of your boys are awesome dogs,
I love the pictures, to be honest I love them all, if I had to choose I would say 1st and 5th are my favorites.
Congratulations – they both reflect your fantastic training! I can’t help but comment on Nikon’s beauty, or, should I say, handsomeness. I’m glad you worked on the photos to bring out his colors. Often, they are lost because they’re so deep. I have the same problem with Dutch – his face is so dark, the markings don’t always show up well. I’ll have to try your technique of desaturating the colors.
On this site, you don’t see many dogs with Pan’s coloring. What is the proper description for him: silver and black? He’s gorgeous.
Thank you!
Pan is a sable, both his parents are sable and sable is the dominant color. If you pet him backwards you can see that his undercoat is cream and the guard hairs turn from white to black. I guess you could say he’s a “dark sable”. He’s not quite what I consider a black sable. If you do a Google image search for Aron vom Poppitz, that is a dog I consider to be a black sable.
Thanks – I checked on Aron vom Poppitz, and he has so much black his markings are very subtle. I like being able to see Pan’s markings and highlights. I think that one of Karen Murray’s dogs is a sable, if I remember correctly.
Nikon reminds me so much of Roman. Such a handsome devil! I love the red from Kira.
Congratulations to all of you, and I love the photos!
Congratulations!
I can see where you de-saturated the color. Have you tried doing spot metering on his face? the background will be overexposed but he will come out true.
Congrats, Lies! Both of the boys look great!
Handsome boys, and great job training Lies.
Congratulations!!
Congratulations Lies, Nikon and Pan, and Dale and Millie too.
Great photos and congratulations to all.
