Sorry, but I have to tell you again how much I love seeing the pictures of Willa. Her power and drive are amazing, but I especially love that first picture. She is so gorgeous, and her posture reflects the readiness and enthusiasm she has for her training.

Is it cheating if I just print those pictures of Willa and hang them around my house for all to see? Since Dutch and Willa look identical, Dutch could sit there quietly waiting for his next manicure and massage, while they check out those photos and admire his strength of character and training! Instead, he’s going to head to Manhattan next week to explore the city and mingle with spoiled-rotten purse-pups. I should go into one of those Chic Pet Boutiques, show them Willa’s pictures, and tell them I’m looking for a silver leather schutzhund harness with a matching Swarovski Crystal studded collar.

I love it — that is a great idea! I especially like the part about taking the photos into a shop accustomed to ‘purse-pups’.

I’m trying to decide between silver/platinum and gold nail polish. The gold would look gorgeous and highlight his ruddy tones, but the platinum would really look sharp with his silver mantle.

I vote for gold. or if you want to be a bit more understated jet-black with sparkles.

Thanks girls I needed a good chuckle this morning, you guys are crazy! But we do want pictures.
You know now days they paint all the nails different any ways, you could mix and match all 3 LOL!

Dutch, ruuuuuunnn!!! You cannot allow mommy to paint your nails, they are beautiful gorgeous black. 😉

Oh Willa, you are so Kira’s daughter, that fire in your eyes and your daddy’s good looks you inherited, wow! Beautiful, smart and spunky.

Love that girl!!

LOL, yes, poor Dutch. prancing around Manhattan with gleaming quicksilver nails to match his shiny new Herm Sprenger collar! Just imagine the nasty looks and brutal accusations of abuse I’ll have to endure from the PETA activists because of the prong collar! I think we’re really going to need it, though, since it will be his first visit to NYC. I am going to get so much unsolicited advice, dammit.

I received an talking to from a training director about my prong where I went for an match show. Yes it is so much more humane to pull them around by their neck letting them drag you around, gagging and coughing in a new and stimulating environment. Maybe you can end up in the face of a dog aggressive dog and get your dog bitten. I’m lucky they did not have animal protective services at my house when I got home!

AKC, etc., are very strict about a no prong collar policy – even at a match.

However, there are now covers that you can purchase to cover the exterior of the prong so that it isn’t as noticeable. The AKC reps and training people would still notice, but not so much the general public. With the cover in place it looks more like a flat collar.

I did not think they would bother with a spectator just hanging out.

A prong collar is much more effective and humane then the typical slip collar or choke collar.
