Congratulations, Presi, on your fantastic pup! He’s moved right into Camp Kayla like he’s been here all along. We go out for potty breaks, he does his thing and then comes and sits right in front of me making eye contact. Can’t complain about that!
Fenris likes to get as flat as possible on the cool tile.
My, what big feet you have!
Oh the adorable-ness! Thank you so much Carole.
Oh so cute! Love the name, too.
YAY! A new puppy at Camp Kayla!!! Batman is jealous that another puppy gets to goof around with his beloved Kayla and Carole (and his less-beloved Tina the Terrier).
Presi, you hit the jackpot with this puppy. I am so happy for you! Carole is going to knock your socks off as a trainer, like she did for me and the Batling. Plus, you’ll get tons of great photos!
Fenris is a cool name — is there a story behind it?
It’s actually partially your fault that this puppy is at Camp Kayla. After reading and seeing what your Batman has done, it seemed like the best choice for us, especially since is our first time with puppy. I’ve only had experience with adult dogs and I didn’t want to screw up training the fundamentals.
As far as the name goes…
Charlie (Fenris’ other human) is very into Norse mythology and when we were discussing names, his only request was that we pick something from there.
Yggdrasil is the name of the world tree central to Norse myths and Fenris (or more commonly spelled, Fenrir) is the name of a giant wolf and a child of Loki.
I’ve always thought it was a cool name, especially for a GSD. Fenris, the puppy, looks like he could grow up to be a giant so, the name fits pretty well.
With those great big furry paws, I think a name evoking “giant wolf” is pretty appropriate!
I am delighted to be partly to blame for a new pup at Camp Kayla! That means I’ll be taking part of the credit for the amazing foundation Fenris will have when he comes home! Naw, I’m kidding. All the credit goes to Camp Carole and to Julie’s breeding program.
You will never appreciate the soundness of your pup more than when you encounter unsound, timid, anxious, and/or reactive dogs. Which we do. All the time. To have Carole raise one of Julie’s puppies for you is like hitting the jackpot, and then winning the lottery on top of that.
PLUS, Fenris will have the most amazing aunties and uncle to hang out with in Florida! Barb going out to the airport for him is just the beginning.
I love the last two pictures. Especially the one with his expressive red eyebrows.
He is freaking adorable !!
Congrats on your new puppy. Carole and Kayla (and Garbo) will take good care of Fenris for you until it is time for you to take him home.
