Charlene (Veri V-litter) almost could do no wrong at the agility trail this past weekend double Q’ing with Tank her Harrier and Artemis her Aussie both Friday and Saturday.
Kim with “Bogey” MACH Alta-Tollhaus In The Rough XF also did very well and now have 18 double Q’s toward their second MACH (you need 20 double Q’s).
Laura and “Lance” Alta-Tollhaus Par Four BN RE TDX MX MXJ NAP NJP OF also double Q’d at the same trial.
My big health brag is I did the DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) tests on every single one of my dogs. Every single one came back Clear/Clear which means they will not develop DM nor do they carry the genes for it. I was very pleased to say the least!
Congratulations to all of our great A-T agility people!
The DM brag does not surprise me. Good job, Julie.
Thanks Carole!
correction- Tank is a Portuguese podengo pequeno and earned 2 QQ (hitting the halfway point to his MACH). Artemis is indeed an Aussie, but she only got one QQ. Vivid is the harrier, and she got 2 QQ. Geez, Julie- can’t you keep my dogs straight?????
Your GSD boys did very well. I believe Bogey won his T2B class on Sunday and they had a perfect weekend (Saturday/Sunday).
Yeah I knew that about Tank I just didn’t know how to spell Portuguese Podengo Pequeno so I called him a Harrier. The truth is I barely can keep track of my own dogs.
Kim and Bogey are smokin’ hot! At the level you guys are at a perfect weekend is amazing.
Charlene,
Congrats on all your Q’s.
How do you manage to run so many dogs??? You must be exhausted at the end of the day!
In November I ran Dylan and Ivan at the same trial and that was crazy as there were four rings going so I was running back and forth.
Since then Dylan has not done any agility but I’m entering both dogs in a trial in May so that should be fun. At least I have Jack to help get them ready while I walk courses etc!
Congrats to the agility people. Ivan is pretty impressive too!
The DM testing is huge. I applaud you for doing it 1000%. If anyone has carried their dog in a “handbag” or looked for wheels, you’ll understand. It is a very big deal. If you realize the dog has quality of life you figure out how to wear mushing dog booties upside down so the rubber running part is on the toe when the dog drags its foot. Then you carry the dog in a towel or scarf. Then you buy the sling with handles, then you buy wheels. Wheels are actually liberating – one day and my dog (not an AT dog) took off a running. She figured out in an instant how to use them and was a new dog.
Ivan is a Rock Star!
The DM sounds awful. I bet it was delightful to see your dog happy to move around again with the wheels.
Wow. Congratulations Charlene, Kim and Laura. What a lot of Double Q’s.
Great news on the DM testing too Julie.
