LOL !! Looks like Max is a chip off the old block! I’m sure loving that little Willa! There’s a racehorse out here named Willaonthemove! It fits her to a tee!

Willa did great going right over the back of the chair!

I think the Gavin DNA is responsible for the chair climbing.

Willa and Max have the same style of taking the shortest way to the find.

Great to see all the pups working. Max and Willa are too funny…love them climbing over the chair! Veri did a super job.

I’m so happy to see detection work becoming a sport, it is so much fun for the dog and handler. I.m really excited about getting going with a nosework dog. Great videos 🙂

You are right, funny it took so long to become a sport. All dogs love it but it is especially good for dogs that have “issues” and can’t fit into a normal class. It gives the owners of these dogs something to do with them and helps bring these dogs out of their shell.

How do you start on this? We don’t have anything like this is our area. Looks like a good way to keep a busy puppy occupied.

Lisa, I think it is something you can do on your own.

Here is the website of the people who started it:

http://www.k9nosework.com/

Maybe you can get going with this and you can start teaching classes in your area?

Andrew Ramsey just came out with a Nosework video, available from Leerburg. It is really informational, and a great way for someone to get started.

If you are anywhere close to NW Ohio, I would be happy to work with you, after I get home this summer, to get you started.

Thanks for the tip David! I have ordered so many videos from Leerburg and love them all. I’ll be sure and add the Nosework video to my next order!

I wish our class would let us share videos! We wrapped up K9 nosework level 1 a few weeks ago, and are starting level 2 next week. We started it just to give us something fun to do, but it turns out that Batman has a real knack for it!

That chair gene is TOTAL Gavin. Batman did the exact same thing in class. One time, the treat was on the chair seat, and instead of approaching the chair directly, he squeezed his head through the armrest got the treat off the seat. He looked like he was wearing a lawn chair necklace.

Many trainers are prickly about students video recording their sessions.

Go Batty!

That’s because they have “that dog with the ball” in the class when they are trying to teach heeling w/a dirty spoon. LOL
