I have started reading the book “Rin Tin Tin: The Life and the Legend” by Susan Orleans and while I have not finished the book, I definitely recommend it. It is very well-written and if you are here looking at this blog you of course will find the subject very interesting.

When I was a kid one of my favorite TV shows was the Adventures of Rin Tin Tin. Even more so than Lassie. I feel that I discovered my love for German Shepherds throught this show.
In January I heard a one hour radio interview with Susan Orlean and was raving about it to Lynda who then surprized me by getting the book for my birthday. I found it very interesting to learn the history of Rin Tin Tin from World War 1 to the present.
Julie,
I liked it very much. Lee Duncan is someone I would have liked to know. Susan Orlean was very thorough, she spent a lot of time and effort on her research.
I’m glad you are enjoying the book too.
Yo Rinty!

I’m with you, Jack. It was my favorite show too! In the first video there is a poster above the author. I have a lamp that looks like that.
Happy belated birthday Jack! Did you like the book? I am really enjoying it.
