When I made the comment I was thinking about our first time at a German show and running around doing the double handling. That’s what I was asking Orly about! I never thought about calling “U-Rock” out loud Julie… LOL.
Julie & Lynda,
I can’t believe how you two picked up on the two things I struggled with in this show.
First the running: as this was my first ever show, I didn’t know what to expect. And when Brian said run, he didn’t mean trot or gallop, he meant RUN. There was absolutely no way I was able to keep up with U-Rock. Every time I thought I was ahead of him, he caught up with me. I struggled BIG time. And after what seemed like ages (but probably only a few minutes) it was finally over & I was trying to catch my breath. Note to self: start practice running…
As to his name, I did call him “U-Rock”. Funny as it may sound, I have been training him with his full name but with an extended “U”… like “UUUUU – Rock”. He likes it and listens to it very well. So, that’s what I used when I called him & that kid was completely focused on me, to my total surprise. (Ange, our trainer, thinks that he was born with a “focus gene”…LOL) So, I think we are stuck with his full name.
By the way, we started agility training tonight. I am not yet good with all the names but, he now knows how to run into a fully extended & bent/curved tube as well as going up & down an A-frame. The kid has no fear and just thinks it’s fun to do. We thought he’d work the equipment for treats but he can care less about them… he likes the fun of using the equipment. And he is soooo easy to train.
Julie, I don’t know how you did it but you sure picked the right kid for me – million thanks!
Thanks Jennie… U-Rock sends his love to bro Batman and says “come and join us”!

Congratulations Orly and U-Rock!
I love the German shows, but boy, you know how out of shape you are when you have to RUN! Matt and I split the ring at NASS this year – he ran half, then I ran half etc to keep Zeta going without killing either one of us. Well, that was the idea! I couldn’t stop coughing for half an hour afterwards. The handler kept yelling RUN, RUN!!! I was on my knees!
Nice to see the pictures Carole.
Good job U-Rock.
Orly, how did you like all the running around the ring calling U-Rock ???
Yeah, what do you call him Orly?

I am so proud of you Orly!
Thank you Julie but U-Rock is the one we should be proud of… I did nothing but drive him there and back. He really is the best!
Batman and I are so proud of the both of you! U-Rock makes it look easy — you guys are naturals.
Congratulations, Orly and Julie! The Alta-Tollhaus dogs really represented at this event.
