Hey Julie

Zucca is WONDERFUL.  She has bonded big time with me and is sure a lovable dog. All the neighbors think she’s great.  She loves her walks and is really good on the leash.  She is out  back for short periods of time so she can potty but she mostly she rolls in the snow and investigates all the smells.  When we walk in the woods she follows the dear and bunny  trails. She got loose once and took off after a deer.  I was panicked and even thought of calling 911!   (Like they would help!)  Anyway, she returned within a short time. I think she knows she has it pretty good here.  She has the run of the house now and we don’t crate her anymore.  She watches TV with me at night and has started to let us know when someone comes to the door with a bark or two.  She’s my shadow.

We’re working on “off” to combat “counter surfing”.  We came up short of about 5 bakery items one day.  The empty container was in the middle of the kitchen floor.  Boy did she look guilty.  She’s developed a little garbage-picking problem, but nothing to get all excited about.  I’ll fix that with a heavy lid!

She’s just a great dog and we love her and are so glad we got her.

Mom is quite sick in the hospital so I haven’t had too much spare time for taking pictures etc but will send some when I do.
