Today (Saturday) Ivan was entered in the American Bull Mastiff Association Agility Trial in Amherst, NH. We decided to enter on only one day of the weekend trial because these trials seem to run very late and it is a long day for a young dog…and an old videographer!
Unfortunately Dylan did not go with us as his head has swollen up again and we have an appointment with the surgeon on Monday. We did not want to stress him out with a long car ride so we left him in my Mum’s capable hands….where I’m sure he was spoiled rotten!
In Novice FAST Ivan qualified with a 1st place for his 2nd leg.
In Novice Jumpers with Weaves Ivan qualified with a score of 100 and 2nd place for his 2nd leg.
In Novice Standard Ivan qualified with a score of 100 and 1st place for his 3rd leg and Novice Agility Title (NA).

I am sorry to read about Dylan, so frustrating. As for Ivan, Allie is so proud of her son! Regarding the videographer, mature but very handsome is a better description. 🙂
Another new title, wow! Three qualifying runs, perfect scores, 2 first places, and a second. Super super, super! I am so proud of both of you!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Now you know what I have been up to! Actually I was very sick (with a cold) last week and was not doing much on Thursday and Friday…I had to get better for the agility trial! I’ll catch up on comments in the next few days.
Fantasticc job guys!
I am sorry to hear about Dylan, I hope they can get this corrected very soon!
Didn’t all of this begin with a darn foxtail? I am so sorry to hear that it has flared up again. I will be keeping very good thoughts for Dylan.
What a Super-Star agility day! Outstanding work on Ivan’s part, excellent save before the weaves on your part, fabulous videographer. Congratulations, Team Ivan.
Yes…a save it was! Not sure if Ivan just thought he would take the last jump, or more likely, he saw Jack in that area and was going to visit “Dad”! At least he responded when I yelled!
Wow wow wow! Great job, Lynda and Ivan! What an awesome showcase of runs — I can’t wait until Batman is following in Mr. Ivan’s paw-steps.
Lynda, let me know the next time you’re competing at an agility event on the East coast. Batman and I would love to go and cheer you on! I could even be a back-up videographer! And it would be good for Batman to get exposure to a trial environment, similar to what you did for Ivan while Dylan was competing.
Poor Mr. Dylan. I can’t believe this foxtail business is still going on. Send him lots of love and good wishes from me, Eric and Batty.
Hi Jennie,
Ivan is in another agility trial on Sunday at the same place in NH. It is a very small venue and there is only a small area for spectators. There is nowhere to walk dogs around the rings etc and it would not be a good place to bring Batman.
There are a couple of trails in Rhode Island in May which I will probably enter Ivan in. They are also held indoors but are in a nice, large Indoor Sports Center. There is much more room and they have two rings of agility. They also have more walking area for the dogs outside.
Ivan will also be entered in the Cape Cod Kennel Club Agility Trial in June. It is a 3 day (15, 16, 17th) outdoor trial with two rings held at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds so there is plenty of room for watching the trial, walking dogs etc.
We normally go to trials in New England so unfortunately they are quite a way north from you.
Maybe we will see you one day!
I hope so! Are you entering Ivan in the Sieger show in Indianapolis in May?
No, we won’t be at that show. Ivan is now over 2 years old and does not have a working title.
Congratulations Ivan and family!!!!!!! You are an inspiration to us all.
Ditto… I can watch your videos over and over again…
Hugs to Dylan and hope tomorrow’s vet appt is a complete success.
Great runs . Ivan is such a good multitalented boy. Congrats. Hope Dylan feels better soon.
Another set of great runs for Ivan. Congratulations! Thanks for posting the videos. They are so much fun to watch. Hope Dylan feels better soon.
Lookin’ good! congrats on a perfect day!
Simply Amazing Ivan.
