Just smile and nod. Then come and tell us about the ridiculous things they tell you. I have some really good stories I have been meaning to share on the blog

YES! I know just what you mean. My favorite was a lady we met on the street the second day we got Batty. She was wearing a winter coat with fur cuffs, and pet him on the head/face, shoving her fur cuffs into his mouth. Well, you can guess what happened — he bit her fur cuffs, probably wondering who this nice woman was wearing his favorite squirrel toy.
I apologized to her and explained that he was teething, and maybe don’t put your hands near his mouth anymore. She told me the next time he gets mouthy, I should stick my hands deeper into his mouth and press down on his inflamed gums. Then he will associate biting my hands with pain.
Um, no, I will not be doing that to my dog. What if I just don’t let him bite my hands?
But I didn’t say anything, I just smiled and nodded and pulled Batty closer to me. People are so weird.
Soon all of the LDT people will be going around just smiling and nodding. We are just a very happy bunch. the fact of the matter is, if you run into someone that REALLY knows what they are talking about they probably would say nothing to you.
Yep. It’s not just dogs though, when I was pregnant I got unsolicited advise from what I eat, to how should I give birth to breastfeeding.
Ugh.
Yes, who knew experts in everything are all around us?! (The UPS driver, the grocery store cashier, the 12 year old neighbor kid…..)
