I bet they have a blast together Both are so cute!.
Oh I can believe that. That cute cuddly puppy from last night was in rare form this morning. She had my shoes untied and my string from my hood stretched half was across the floor
I couldn’t stop laughing at her she was like a wild woman..she wanted to play and she was well rested. Too cute!!

The fun never ends, does it? They are just adorable. Their markings look so similar in these pictures. I love Verdae’s long coat – so soft and snuggly I just want to pick her up and hug her! Dutch’s coat is like Willa’s, and everyone who sees him wants to pet him and feel his soft fur. Verdae just kicks it up another notch!
Julie, didn’t you say that in Germany, they prefer the herding dogs to have that short coat because the mud or dirt won’t stick to it — or something like that?
The dogs/lines you see used by the Shepherds, as in human Shepherds tend to have the shorter stock coats. The Kirschental lines certainly have the shorter hair coat. Funny and Maika being exceptions. Kira and Allie have very typical hair coat from the Kirschental lines. Kira especially goes back to the older herding lines with working lines thrown in there.
A correct stock coat of any length will resist staining and wick away water and a good shake will shed them of mud. The shorter coats do not collect twigs, seeds, etc like the longer hair.

Thanks, Julie – I just looked at Willa again in the pictures above, and I can see that her coat appears more sleek than Dutch’s. Is that what you mean? His is all fuzzy, but not as long as Oso or Verdae, and not as sleek as his sister Willa.

Willa beats the stuffing out of Verdae.
Yup, yup, yup…Sydney’s sister:)
I was going to say the exact same thing. Buy a lot of balls now Julie.

Both Dutch and Willa are “stock” coats, but Dutch has longer hair coat like Gavin and is more “showy.” Both Wicked and Willa have Kira’s short coat.

Yes, Dutch is not a long coat but has good hair.
That’s great, because winters are freeeeeeeezing cold here in the Berkshires!
