Oh My Goodness! I don’t think they could be any cuter than this. We are excited again. Hopefully the X litter works out for us.
Oh, be still my beating heart :~) They are gorgeous! How fabulous to have such great weather. You can just tell how much fun they are having. Nice heads! That red collar girl is a little demon. She misses nothing and is a part of most everything, nice :~) WOW …
LOL!!! In #2 did purple collar ham the camera or what? #3 is a great photo, and #* is too cute for words, I REALLY love these puppies!!!!!!!!!!!
@LARHAGE
I mean #8 is too cute for words.
Red collar girl has a left ear that really wants to be up! I love the picture of the blue boy running – this is what we’ve called in our house, ‘Dog on the run!’.
Love the pictures, Julie! Thank you for posting them!
****Sigh***
Green collar boy.♥♥♥♥
LOL you always love the Green collar ones.
You always put the green collar on the boys with the darkest face, that’s why! 😀
not on purpose I just grab a collar and put them on as they are born.
I, too, love those darker faces. Errr… I mean green collar puppies…
Julie, I think red girl should come and live with me. Libby needs a pesky little sister.
Thank you for the pictures. I love the lime green collar boy already.
Love these pictures. All the puppies are adorable!
A sign our family spends a lot of time looking at A-T puppy pictures: Tonight my 4 year old daughter, Lily, referred to one of the kids in her swim class as, “blue goggles boy”. 🙂
LOL that Lily is a smart one!
Now that’s cute!
How on earth do you get all those great pictures? I can’t even get our family to all stay still and look at the camera without blinking, chewing, or looking elsewhere! Do you take dozens of pictures, and get lucky with a few? They are amazing, and I want to know your secret!
Yes, Wyatt West (blue collar boy) was almost named “Wes Welker,” after our New England Patriots football player! Either way, we were planning to use “Wes” as his call name. However, after reading our “Puppy Instructions & Training Guide” (yes, Julie, we’re doing our homework!), we are concerned that “Wes” sounds too much like “Yes.” The word “Yes” is used interchangeably with the clicker as a conditioned reinforcer, and that would be a big problem. We LOVE his registered name, “Alta-Tollhaus Wyatt West,” but we are considering using “Dutch” as his call name to avoid confusion. Dutch was our original choice, so we’re OK with it. The name is a critical part of his training, and when we aren’t talking to him, we have to refer to “the dog” rather than even using his name around him where he can hear it and get confused, or dilute its power, according to the Puppy Guide.
I highly recommend reading it ASAP – it starts us thinking and preparing right now for the arrival of our little furry friends! Also, there are plenty of humorous passages, which really make it fun to read, such:
NEWSPAPER TRAINING
If all else fails, a rolled up newspaper is a wonderful training tool. When puppy has an accident, take the rolled up newspaper, hit yourself on the head with it while repeating, “I forgot to watch the dog!”
I am glad you like it!
That newspaper part was a favorite of mine too. That and the stairs. There’s a tornado coming and the dog won’t go down the stairs!
Did I have in there about the guy who putt golf balls at his dog to catch and then complained that his teeth were genetically bad because he kept breaking teeth. Damn lucky the dog didn’t die from choking on one of the golf balls.
Parts of that were included, yes. Golf balls? Really? I’m having difficulty understanding how under ANY circumstances that sounds like an okay idea. It’s like giving a toddler Lego’s.
I used to bring my tennis racquet out to the field behind our house and hit balls scented with grouse scent as far out as I could slam them with an overhead serve type swing. My Lab loved hunting for them, and got plenty of exercise, too. Now I’ve read that the tennis balls are bad for GSD’s (all dogs?), and maybe it wasn’t such a good idea. Too bad, because it’s a lot of fun. What do you think?
