We’ve had Vander (pronounced “Fander” – We’re going with the German pronunciation. :)) now for a little over a week. We’re very fortunate to have so much vacation time right now so that we’re able to spend a great deal of time with him and help him (and us) get situated in his new home. We’ve had so much fun getting to know this little guy! Right now, housebreaking is our biggest priority (thank goodness for our good weather this year!)… Which means that we’re currently in that phase where we’re all trying to get on the same page as far as communication is concerned. 🙂 Vander’s also a very driven little guy and obedience training is going quite well… He’s such a motivated little puppy! 🙂
Vander’s also very popular on walks… He’s already won over all of our neighbors with his cuteness! 🙂
We’re looking forward to spending Christmas up north with him! We’re very excited for him to meet our little nephew as well! Fingers crossed that he does well on our 4 hour drive up north! 🙂 We’ll keep you posted…
We hope you all have a very merry Christmas, and best wishes for a happy, healthy New Year!!
Love,
Kristin, Brian, and Vander (and our crazy cat, Riley, too! :))
Welcome Kristin, Brian and Vander! I love that you stuck with the “letter theme” and gave him a “V” name. What a cute little face.
What does Riley think of the new addition to the family…? I bet he thinks Vander is a Christmas present that he will return after the holidays!!
I agree with Lynda, thank you for sticking with the litter letter! Makes it so much easier for all of us to instantly place the litter Vander is from.
Thank you for sharing the pictures! Did you notice you can now do drag on drop on the posts? So much faster.
Vander is looking super, and obviously a very happy puppy.
With housebreaking, if you are having problems that means you need to take away is freedom, you need to implement more structure until there is an understanding of where the bathroom areas are and are not.
Now THIS is a happy-looking family! Ditto on what Lynda & Julie said about keeping with a V name. It makes it much easier!
If Julie is not available and you need puppy help, please feel free to contact me.
Best wishes with Vander!
What a handsome little guy – and I love the name Vander, too! It’s a nice strong name that projects well. That last picture with Vander’s head slightly cocked reminds me of my GSD’s expression when she didn’t quite understand what I wanted of her. We’ll be facing winter weather housebreaking challenges with our little “Dutch” from the W-litter soon. I think I’m going to have to sleep in my parka!
What a cutie pie!!! Where up north does this nice family call home?
Love the name and what a handsome guy! Enjoy the holidays and I am sure he will enjoy his travels.
What a cute little guy. Those ears are adorable. They remind me of DeNiro’s when he was that age.
There we go again… An A-T pup with the head tilt… must be inbred in all these pups… totally adorable!
Welcome Brian & Kristin!
