We spent the evening in the nursing home and Sade enjoyed all the attention and gave back in kind. Everyone loves a visit from a dog and a puppy is even more heartwarming.  Many of the residents look forward to Sade’s visits and enjoy interacting with her and sharing stories of their loved pets.

Listening to people’s stories about their dogs is a wonderful gift. Especially when they no longer have a dog in their life. Telling their stories brings them back alive for those few moments.

Good girl Sade. Thank you Irene for doing this.

This is what I want Batman to do. Hugs to you and Sade for making their day so special. It’s amazing how much a dog can help where people alone cannot.

Very nice!! Irene I just have to ask, do you give her a tranquilizer before you go?? LOL Just kidding. I just know how busy she can be. I am sure they all love to see Sade and you come to visit! The smiles and memories it provides for them is priceless.

No tranquilizer but lots and lots of treats and I hold her on a short leash. My brother is in the nursing home so we spend a lot o time visiting and she has been going since she has been little. This nursing home is very dog friendly and has a policy that family dogs are allowed to visit as long as they are well behaved.

She usually does very well. It also helps to make sure she has had a lot of exercse ahead of time.

Good for you Irene. When my dad was at the rehab center after some surgery and I took my 2 dogs to visit everyone came out of their rooms to see. Many of them told fond stories of the pets they had in the past and for that moment they seemed to be taken back in time remembering their 4 legged friends.
