LT Ouisa and Lucky.

Jane and I could not agree on what kind of dog we wanted last
year, so we each chose our own. Lucky is a miniature long haired Dachshund,
Jane found him at a breeder in Atlanta, MI. He’s a bit neurotic, but a good
alarm system. However, LT Ouisa is the Director of Security around here. They
are allowed to sleep on the job.

This is a great photo, Dave! Lucky has the perfect pillow and a wonderful guardian.

Absolutely gorgeous picture, Dave! Definitely a framer!
I looked back at pictures of LT Ouisa when she was younger. She sure grew up to be a beauty.

@Orly
Thank you, she receives a lot of compliments. There are a lot of giggles when we walk these two around Saint Joseph. People saw Aaww, when they see Lucky, but he wants nothing to do with them.

BTW, LT Ouisa weighed in at 68 pounds last week at the vet (just vaccines). Dr. Richards said her winter weight should be about 73 pounds. She has 1 2/3 cup of dry food twice a day and 1/3 pound of frozen venison or chicken for lunch. She is 14.5 months old now.

What a cute picture! I bet they are a cute pair.

I think 68 pounds is a very healthy weight. The only female that I have that weighs in the 70’s is Kira, if she hits 75 pounds she is overweight. I vote for leaving LT’s weight as is….besides she is a house dog and doesn’t need extra weight for the winter.

Thanks Julie, she is quick on her feet at this weight, we’ll take your advice and keep her at 68.

She is retrieving like mad – it’s her favorite thing to do. Next is swimming and retieving, walks and retrieving, dropping a ball at our feet when we stop throwing …

She spent half a day with SASS (half-brother) and they never stopped running.

BTW, We pulled (used a tick tool) two ticks off of her in last week. I would have thought that was over for the season. Big ticks, not the deer ticks.

fleas and ticks were/are very bad this year. plus a new tick borne disease that was brought back from the worlds by the dogs competing. Maybe Ann K will post about that, she has been keeping on top of it.

@Michelle
LT’s Dad stays busy and doesn’t seem to share well. He needs to remember to post a little more often.
