Saturday was the Kazoo Area Foot Chase, a benefit for Michigan C.O.P.S., a nonprofit organization that helps the survivors of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. It was a great day–we woke up at 3:00 a.m. to be able to drive down from Leelanau County to Portage to surprise our son, Sean, a recruit at the Ferris State University Police Academy. Sean, as well as 13 other Ferris recruits, ran in the annual 5k race, which simulates a police foot chase. A team of “suspects” gets a head start, and the 220-odd racers race after them, with “witnesses” along the way pointing the way the “suspects” had run.
One of our first stops, the Sonic drive-in, Grand Rapids. Here’s Isa, surveying things in the parking lot as we waited for our food. Yes, she had tater tots.
Here’s Isa with Sean–and Sean was the winner of the race!
These horses were actually watching the exercising!
Isa watching the K-9 and his handler (and the horses, out of this photo, but they were a few feet to the right of the K-9):
Here are Lathan and Isa, on the ride home:
Karoline, Garth, Isa and Lathan in Grand Rapids, after lunch:
Isa’s coloring is just beautiful. Even her ear floof is richly pigmented!
Isa looks great and congrats to Sean!!
Congrats! oh I wish I would have known you came through Grand Rapids, I would have loved to meet all of you.
Seeing the pictures of Lathan and Isa riding in the car..If it wasn’t for a different child, I would have thought it was Sabree. Those are all positions that her and David share. Thank you for sharing your beautiful girl!
Great pictures. What a great cause. Isa is a beautiful girl! So does Sean want to be a canine handler?
Isa is such a gorgeous girl. Such a sweet face and such glamorous ear fluff!
What a fun day, someone has a good sense of humor! Congratulations to you Sean on winning the race!!! The pictures of Lathan and Isa are precious, can not think of a better way to ride home then cuddled up with a dog. Beautiful family!
Sean, congratulations on winning the race!
Isa is very beautiful. I just love the “on the ride home” pix.
Jil,
It is fantastic to see the pictures of Isa. She looks GREAT, so beautiful and happy. The pictures of her and Lathan in the car on the way home are priceless-especially the last one.
What a great idea for a fundraiser. Congratulations to Sean on winning the race…and hopefully catching all the suspects!
