Wonderful video you put up, Josie

To answer your earlier question, Josie, just in case you did not read it

Josie, we are still interested in doing Schutzhund. Our problem though is finding a club / person to help us train. There are no clubs in the area that do any such dog sports like Schutzhund or PSA and such.

I have had some bad comings trying to find a mentor. My first mentor I found moved away from the Valley. The second one died. The third and fourth fell off the face of the Earth. I have yet to hear anything from them. I know it sounds a bit outrageous, but what can I say? Right now we found someone that may help but will charge quite a bit. He trains as a minor profession. Finding a place with knowledgeable people has been quite an experience.
We wish to see what each sport entails. I know I can look up the sports on video sites like youtube, but somehow it does not give us everything, I feel, necessary to understand what work the sports entail. Usually those videos just give the end result. We are still interested. We plan to visit a few clubs and/or people when we will go to one of the bigger cities in Texas like Austin or Dallas. Will keep Julie, you, and group updated.

Any advice???????

Pleasure writing! May all your lives be filled with prosperity.

Uriel, where do you live? If you send an email to me, I might be able to help locate someone to train with. CarsinGSD@gmail.com

Uriel,

Here’s a link to PSA clubs in TX- don’t know how far you are from them.

Coastal Bend SchH Club

You can also try and email these people and find out which club is nearest you: http://www.germanshepherddog.com/

Or

Ya’ll can move to Dallas- we rock over here. 🙂 Haha

Great video. You train with a PSA Club? It looked like in the video that they also do modeo ring and schutzhund. Will you be doing PSA with Koda? Will be fun to get videos of his work.

Yes, we started already. I hate tracking so PSA it is, tracking is normally done very early in the morning…. and I don’t do morning…. lol

I am scheduling Koda for a herding evaluation right around October. Can’t wait for that! I remember when he first met Rascal, it was hilarious!! He was all, “what are you? you’re so small? Let’s play!!”

You can always do a schH A – Obedience & Protection – no tracking. Sade is an excellent tracker. I am looking forward to hearing how he does. My bet is he is a natural. I am sure protection won’t be an issue for him…
