Winston was on fire this weekend. It was hotter than hell and today Winston decided to go crazy for his ball!
Who is this crazed beast???
If Winston was so fired up on one of the hottest days of the year then I can’t wait to see what he’ll do this fall. Excellent job, Susan & Winston!
That’s great! Wait…this is the dog with no ball drive????
He was a closet ball-drive boy! When he first started to work on Saturday, it was like someone lit his butt on fire. I could not believe how Winston was so quick and so focused and jumping for his ball.
He surprised me too. Almost took my hand off.
How do you keep him from swinging his butt out when you heel?
Carole has us walk very close to the fence so the dog must stay at our side. Winston has a harder time keeping a straight sit position. He gets lazy and slumps to the side.
I love Winston’s big head! How old is he?
He is 2 1/2 years old, but he still acts like a puppy.
Perfect time to add a playmate!!!!
You are right! I’ve always had 2 dogs. This is the longest I have gone with just one. Winston’s playmate passed away about 1 1/2 years ago. She was a beautiful Anatolian shepherd.
Carole, I swear if you ever are close enough by I am going to bring Libby to you for some lessons (or maybe me for some lessons-I’m sure she would learn in 5 minutes-it is me holding us back).
Good Boy, Winston!! Susan and Winston are a great team. I can’t wait to see what he does when this weather gets better. Move over Chicken!!! (He’s nuts about his rubber chicken)
That is cool to see. Yes Susan, now you will have to keep your fingers back. Anything fr the ball or rubber chicken. Your doing great.
Winston looks so focused. Had he done any/much training before?
I hate to admit this, but Winston was enrolled in a very “old school” training class. Everything was done with correction and compulsion. He’s not a high drive dog and finding Carole has been an answer to my prayers (don’t tell her that, it will go straight to her head). He loves to play and positive reinforcement is what he needs.
You are too gentle with Winston to ever have used “old school” methods.
I am very happy that you & Winston joined our class!
