Happy Summer! I hope that, right now, all of you are enjoying backyard barbecues, fireworks, and all the fun things that summer brings. It is hot and humid in New England. Work has kept me very busy this summer. I will be traveling every week from mid-June to late July (though home on the weekends….at least that is the plan right now). I also have a ton of arbitrations scheduled throughout the rest of the year. With all the travel, it has been hard to attend training classes regularly with Pieka. We haven’t been tracking at all, which is very disappointing – I had hopes that this was Pieka’s year to certify and title. Despite my schedule, we did manage to finish Pieka’s APDT Rally Level 2 title and get one leg towards her Rally Advanced title. She is now Alta-Tollhaus Bali RN, R2, RL1X, CGC. Fancy, yes?
This is a fun heeling picture from one of our trials. Pieka is always a huge hit for her enthusiastic performances, which often include leaping finishes and very prancy heeling. I just try not to trip over my own feet and stay out of her way. We’re hoping to enter traditional obedience in early 2012. She could probably qualify right now in Novice, but I’d like to polish her up a bit and have her almost ready to go in Open before we hit the ring. Of course, to do all this, I am going to have to be home enough to train with her on a regular basis.
Hi Jamie,
Great to hear from you. I was just thinking about you and Pieka the other day and wondering if you had been to any more trials. Congrats on your Rally 2 title.
It sure has been hot and humid….not quite so bad for us on the Cape, but too hot to train some times. I haven’t done any tracking either.
Are you entered in any more Adv Rally trials?
Love the pictures. Peika looks great.
Lynda
No more entries for Rally Advanced right now! Both Pieka and I were getting bored with it – and it was really degrading our heeling, she can’t move out between signs. We’ll get back to it after we (hopefully) finish up her CDX. In an ideal world, that will be next year. In reality, who knows? 🙂
Hi Jamie!
Peika is SO beautiful! Look at that prance! Congrats! You are doing a wonderful job with her!
Very pretty girl!!! I love her focus and enthusiasm.
Hi, Jaime! Such fun to hear of your adventures with Pieka–she is such a beauty– so feminine. Let’s hear it for coated GSDs!
What a beauty she is. She reminds me so much of her mom in her obedience work. Perfect jumping form. Congratulations on the new titles!
She is sooo pretty! LOve the LHs… Congrats on your Rally title. Where are you in NE? I live in Ct
We live in Keene, NH. Depending on where you are, perhaps you, Linda, and I can get together for a GSD training day!
I have been up to Keene for agility trials but it is a couple hours for me. Up until last year I had five GSDs (have had Shepherds for about 20 years) but I lost two of my girls at 12 1/2 last year so right now I just have Skyler my 14 yr GSD, Blitz my 9 yr old boy who I just retired this year from agility and my 3 yr old Malinois Rumor who just started her agility & obed career this year. I will probably keep my pack number to 3 for now as my old girl is alot of physical work for me and the joy of my life and I want to keep her active and happy She is in wheels now.
Peika is so beautiful, these are gorgeous photos! Peika reminds me of Kira and Kayla with long hair. Congratulations on your new titles.
Thanks for your kind comments, everyone! Pieka is certainly a good girl.
