I just wanted to thank you all for the support, you have no idea how much your heartfelt words mean to me.
I lost my first gsd Zeus in 2009, it took us almost 2 years to finally get over his death. When we were finally ready, I searched high and low for the perfect gsd breeder and found Julie. Did I tell you? I’ve contacted and talked to many breeders before Julie, yet none of them clicked with me. I trusted my gut instinct and then there was Odin.
Let me tell you a little bit about my sweet Odin.
When we drove from Texas all the way to MI to pick him up, we didn’t know which puppy we’ll end up with until he did these:

He made my husband’s hand bleed 😀

Then it was love from that moment on.

He was a little monster

He was the cutest puppy, ears fully up at barely 10 weeks.

His PSA trainer was astounded by his prey drive, he really liked him. His Obedience trainer wanted me to show him. We were scheduled to do our herding evaluation in Sept. I have so many things planned for him. He was a great GSD, just what I wanted, just what I expected, just what I needed.
I have contacted his trainers, they were shocked and in disbelief also.
You all have been like a family to me. We all share something very special, our love for our gsds.

You will never be forgotten, you have stolen our hearts in just under 5 months. I am going to have your portrait done and place it next to your big brother Zeus.
Love you very very much.
Having lost our Bulldog, Dozer, in 2010 at the age of 12 I can’t imagine losing one so young. However, I also never thought I would get to the point where another dog would steal my heart, but it has happened in just 2 months with Koda! People used to tell me that time heals and it would get easier down the road- I never found that to be true – I miss him as much today as when he passed. When the time is right, you simply make the decision to allow another precious dog to share your life and treasure each moment. Hang in there.
Josie, What a beautiful-heartfelt tribute to Odin. He had a great life and only knew a world filled with love. Big hug to you…. XOXO
What a beautiful tribute. I know how difficult this must be. I have a brother of Odin’s who we love dearly. SASS is a wonderful addition to our family. My past 2 dogs have gone to the Rainbow Ridge at the relative young age of 7 years old and both went from cancer. I know there is nothing I can write that will make your pain go away. You and your family are in my thoughts. SASS gives you and your family a big hug and lick for giving Odin a great life while he was here.
Josie, this a beautiful tribute to Odin. Thanks to you, he had a wonderful, carefree, and loving life. These pictures say it all—with that little smile of his. He was your do-all pup, but most importantly, Odin was loved.
Now that you mention it and looking through the pictures, he does have that smile that didn’t change from the beginning.
If there’s only 2 words to describe Odin, it’s Sweet and Happy.
What a wonderful life and love he had with your family.
Brought tears to my eyes. I remember Obin since he was a young puppy. Big hug from Michigan, Josie! <3 <3 <3
What a beautiful set of photos! Unfortunately, Alan is right–it does not get any easier with time, just different. Sometime in the future, when you are ready, please remember that the greatest tribute you can pay to Odin will be opening that wonderful home to another extremely lucky puppy.
Josie, our family would like to offer our deepest condolences for your family’s loss. Odin is a gorgeous dog!
What a beautiful story in pictures Josie.
My condolences, I know that awful feeling of loss all too well. I’m sure Odin was very grateful and lucky to have spent the time he did with your family.
I think of you often Josie. I am so happy that you were able to take so many wonderful photos that captured all his playfulness. My favorite series had to be the ones where he nudged the baby by the pool…he had so much love:)
Josie, you gave him the best and he loved you for it.
This is so sad what happened to Odin ? I am so sorry for your loss and you all must be devastated as he is so young. So sad….
