July 4th is a fun holiday. Got to watch the parade this morning and then we watched the turtle derby. Over 100 turtles raced in the derby. They are funny looking creatures. Not sure what looks stranger though, a turtle or the mini horse in the parade. Image a full grown horse that is smaller than a German Shepherd. I got lots of attention. Everyone said I was so beautiful. I really enjoyed being the center of attention. And tonight I got to see my first fireworks. There was music and lots of colors in the sky. Kids running everywhere. What fun! And look at the fancy collar I got to wear.
I hope all my siblings and cousins had a fun day too.
Oh Sade, you look so beautiful and festive in your new collar! You are a great representative of our breed—unlike that filthy cousin of yours. It is a good thing that you & he don’t live closer together as he would be a very bad influence on you. Your Momma takes great care of you.
Oh, she loves water and MUD. Luckily there wasn’t any at the park or she would have rolled in it, pretty collar or not. It is a good thing GSDs are wash and wear dogs, just hose them off and let them shake and good to go again.
Grizzly resents that remark 🙂
What a fun day! That turtle derby sounds pretty cool, great opportunities to socialize and experience new things. Love her ears, that raw diet seems to be working out well. 🙂
Funny how you worried about those ears, they are beautiful. She is even starting to “talk with her ears”. You can tell so much about a GSDs mood by their ears. Perky, relaxed, alert…
Never heard of a turtle derby before but it seems to be a big thing here. The kids catch the turtles (I am told they release them back where they found the afterwards). The put them in a big ring in the middle and then lift the ring and whichever turtle makes it to the outer circle first wins. No ring trainning involved.
You are absolutely right about the Wash & Wear dog. Garbo has a water trough for her pool. Each day before coming inside, she takes one last dunk in the pool. She shakes off and once she’s dry she is as good as new. I can’t say the same thing about my floor—but that is another story.
Sade is beautiful Irene. Like her sister Libby it appears that not much passes by unnoticed.
They are fearless to a fault, aren’t they? Any new pics of Libby? I bet you are very busy.
They are coming as I type.
Good job Sade! She looks fabulous, love her ears!
