Via has one more ultrasound on her hamstring this week. Next week she should start working in the underwater treadmill. She is also up to 2 – 25 minute walks per day with leg stretching after the walk.
I noticed that too, mainly b/c Nikon has the exact same thing. It comes and goes. Right now his ears are good. I was wondering if he was allergic to cats. Sounds silly but we tried so many topical creams, scraped for this or that, monitored for fly strike, and never had a reason. When we moved his ears started getting better (after being the worse they’d ever been). Never seemed to matter what season, but I wondered about cats, since I used to have a few and even after that I’m sure there was a lot of cat hair and dander around our old house. He doesn’t have any known allergies, skin issues, nothing.
I tried the same…dermalone, zymox, mometamax….we tried all these and they didn’t seem to make it worse but nothing “cured” the problem. At least the creams ruled out common infections and kept the skin moist (does Via’s skin get sort of flaky and scabby along the edges of her ears?). I had a friend who works in a medical lab to scrapings and swabs but we didn’t find anything unusual and no mites. I may run a thyroid test at some point. Another friend whose dog has the exact same symptoms ended up being slightly off as far as the thyroid goes. Her dog had a few other minor symptoms that mine doesn’t have but I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to check the thyroid.
Did someone bite her ears? I’m not sure if it’s just my monitor but it looks like a piece got chopped off.
Via is so pretty! Is her injury getting better?
She has always had a dent in her ear but she use to have more hair on her margins to hide it. I think the hair will grow back.

Also I really like Via. At least in the pics she appears to be a very strong looking bitch, great color. I love her overall “look”.
The Vet thinks that it might be season allergies because she can’t find a cause for it.
I am treating it with dermalone cause it makes ME feel better!
Here is some video of her doing work.

I will make a thyroid test part of her one year check up.
Very cute photos!
