LT Ouisa and Sass have the same father – Xbox. LT Ouisa is 9
months old and 70ish pounds and Sass is 5 months and 40ish pounds.
They had met each other before, but today was the first time
they could play together. LT has trouble understanding why Sass isn’t
interested in the ball.
Both are very calm and comfortable with whatever their
surroundings are. Bruce and I shoot competitively together so both dogs are
perfectly happy to go to the range.
I know Bruce is very happy with Sass, his temperament and obedience.
By the way, Sass translates into the Single Action Shooting Society, that’s
Cowboy shooting for you greenhorns.
LT Ouisa continues obedience training with me. She makes me
proud of her every day. On or off leash she is attentive and responsive to all
commands. She has learned how to find antler sheds at our farm, It’s not hard
to teach a dog how to find what they consider a reward.
She is a big chewer, solid rubber balls from Menards last a
month or so. The kong extreme (black) toys seem to be just a bit tougher, she
has not destroyed one of those yet. We don’t play with tennis balls, last time
we bought some for her she immediately crushed and then tore them apart.
LT still eats puppy chow and venison every day. We have a
couple month supply of venison remaining. Looks like I’ll need to harvest a
deer in the early season to keep the supply flowing.
My girl is a young woman as she just finished her first heat
cycle.
I know the regular readers of this blog already know this.
For the not so regular readers and for those looking for a great GSD, please
take the time to meet with Julie. Her dogs are the best!
What beauties. Great to hear from you Dave and LT.
Thank you for sharing.
Ahhh Dave thank you so much…you can tell me what I owe you later! 🙂
I always wondered about the name Bruce gave his puppy. Sass seemed a little too cutesy…but now I understand it is SASS and what is means. LT is beautiful, love her head…Allie all the way!
Dave and I had been wanting to get these 2 together. They got along well after they sniffed a little. I don’t take a lot of pictures and those I do don’t normally turn out very well. SASS is a great pup and gets lots of compliments. He has been to several events with 20-100 people and is always adored by everyone. He sticks to me like Velcro. When I come up from the basement he is almost always laying at the top of the stairs waiting for me.
I went to Arkansas and went fishing. SASS went with me the first of April and got his first boat ride. He watched the river for awhile and then laid down and went to sleep while I caught fish. He’s remaining a healthy active puppy and we thoroughly enjoy having him in our home.
Thanks Julie.
Bruce, not you too! I am going to go broke shelling out all this payola. 🙂
I am very pleased at how well he does at the shooting events and bass fishing. The best owners are like you take their dog everywhere. I am so happy for the puppy, I love it, and they love it even more.
Thank you Bruce and Dave.
Thanks for sharing, Dave! LT is gorgeous!
Both dogs are beautiful!
