I haven’t been able to figure out how to put captions on the pics. This morning 1 ear was up, but by the time I took the photo she was living under the teepee!!!
We have considered Jenny, Katie, Ziva (I’m a big NCIS fan) & Callie so far. I try to use names that none of our friends dogs have.

Have you decided yet on a first letter for the name?

OK Lisa, with this being the S Litter, I think I told Julie but maybe not, but I would have named a girl Shelby. But my reasoning is that I like the Shelby Mustangs and some day would like to own a classic one. But I love the name.
But I do have to say as far as a “call” name, I’m surprised our dogs even know their names, we call Kapone any thing from Beggar Butt to Pony or Shi_ Bird, And Grandma Julie and Auntie Carole call him K-pony. But I have to admit he does come when I call him Beggar Butt, or Kapone.
I know I’m terrible! LOL
She does seem to perk up when I call her sharklet or beastling, but I can’t picture myself calling those names out the back door for our neighbors to hear. I had a list of S names on a list when I went to Julies and Shelby was on the list. Maybe I should publish for the other S puppy people.
I like shelby too, tht would work as a registered naem and a call name. If you want to keep Samara as her registered name then I would go with a call name that ties in with that: Mari, Mara, Sami, Ara, Ari

If her registered name is going to be Samara, why on earth do you need a call name? What is wrong with calling her Samara? Kayla is Kayla, Garbo is Garbo…I don’t get it.
…and Ivan is Ivan!! I agree with Julie and Carole’s comments.
Jack and I are NCIS fans also and if we had “J boy” instead of Ivan (an “I” pup) he might have been named “Jethro”! I like the registered name (litter letter) and call name to be connected in some way.
I’m sure the other “S” puppy owners would like to see your list of names too.
…from one who has a registered “Prada” with a call “Sydney” that are so different, I would share that unless there is a compelling reason, tie them in. I find myself always trying to ways to keep her Prada name alive in some way. She was Sydney before she was born. Shelby is really cute, Sami is cool, ….would love to see the list

How about Sahara? (I like jeeps :)) I dont have much room to talk about changing names — Qantas is named Grizzly and we call him Griz, Grizzles, G-Swizzles, Swiz, and mud butt.. (he’s had a run of diarrhea over the last weekend)…….
I’m guilty of the name game as well- Alta Tollhaus Quando to Odin. It’s funny because with my other shepherd, his registered name and call name is the same.
Ekko normally goes by Ekko, or as our trainer calls him, Mr. Ekko or Big Guy. Kirsch goes by either Kirsch, or more commonly, Boogley. Kirsch knows when it’s Kirsch he needs to be more serious, if he hears Boogley, he knows he can play around a bit. It’s a lot like when I was growing up, if I heard my complete name from my mother, I either better pay attention or find a hiding spot.
Having a call name similar or different from the registered name doesn’t seem to make a difference in our case, we just need to remember to use the formal name once in a while.

We will be registering “Zeta” as Schone Zeta as I wanted to make sure she had an ‘S’ name. I really liked the name Zeta as it will be easy for her to respond to. Schone in German means Beautiful, and she certainly is.
Niro is actually DeNiro named after Robert DeNiro as he came from the D litter.

How cute is Abby for an “A” litter:)
One of Raj’s best friends is a Papillon puppy named Gibbs, Gunny to us.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only terrible parent that calls my 4 legged kids names. LOL

What a great name Andrea. I’m glad you were able to find a German “S” name to go with Zeta like you wanted. She is a beautiful girl.
