I just spent the most wonderful day at Julie’s yesterday,  meeting some old friends and making some new, interacting with the cutest little S kids and fabulous Mum Allie and was also lucky enough to watch some training with Gustavo.

Here are some of my photographs chronicling the day:

They say they don’t notice me as much as the rest, well I am about to change that!

Julia sharing a tender moment with one of the little charges

The ever patient Mum Allie

Will this end soon do you think?

Are you ready over there?

What a silly question!

The parting shot.

Thanks for a fabulous day Julie!

My kidlet said that she thinks Allie is getting bored with all those hungry puppies.

Andrea, these photos are fantastic! I especially like “Notice Me Now” and the expression on Allie’s face is just priceless! I’m so glad that you were able to watch Gustavo work dogs. He is the very best and such a nice man. Some trainers are all talk with very little action—Gustavo is just the opposite. If you want positive results with your dog, train with Gustavo!

I am always so humbled by your and Julie’s photographs, so thank you for the compliments.

You are right about Gustavo. I have watched him once before and really liked the way he worked the dogs. He seemed to get the best out of the dogs and the handlers, unlike others I have come across.

I am really excited to start working with him with one of the little “S” pups.

You are just as good! The more photos you take the better you get. Once that little S kid gets there, you’ll be outstanding!

Hi Andrea,
Great that you got to visit Julie and the puppies. Are you going to get one of the “S” litter…???
Great pictures. It was super to see Allie as well as the pups and action shots. Ivan is sooo much like his mother.

Oh Lynda, it was such a wonderful day! And YES, I am delighted to say I am getting one of the little “S” girls! After NASS last year, meeting Gustavo a few months ago and doing quite a bit of reading, Matt and I decided we wanted to get a second Alta Tollhaus GSD and this time train towards Schutzhund titles! We can’t wait!

Andrea,
We are so happy for you and Matt. Congratulations on your upcoming “S” pup.
Now you will need to get a bigger vehicle….but not for a while. The Honda Pilot does have a lot of room!!
It will be GREAT to see you at NASS and meet your dogs.

I absolutely LOVE the Pilot and have measured it out so that we can get two GSD crates in the back side by side (the travel crates will be a little smaller than the ones we use at home of course) and Kora’s much smaller Petmate Plastic Travel Kennel on the back seat laid flat. Dog food containers etc can go on the flat seat next to her and all our (human) gear and camping stuff can go in the Yakima Cargo Box on the roof. When you really want something to work, you can make it work! Can you see me smiling from ear to ear? 🙂

I can’t wait for Matt to meet you and Jack and of course Ivan and Dylan. He feels as if he already knows you all!

Before long you will need to take 2 photos just to get Allie and the pups. I think Allie is ready to close down the milk bar based on her expression in the 5th pic. I can hardly wait to visit the pups-2 more weeks to go!

You won’t be disappointed! Do you live in Michigan, or are you coming in from out of state?

Are you coming in specially to meet Julie and the pups? I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you get one of little S girls. I know you won’t want to leave, once you see them!

Yes, I am coming to meet Julie and all of the “girls” & pick her brain on care, training, etc. Hope one of the S girls will have the personality to work out for us. Husband has his own business in house (& tends to spoil the dogs), so we also need kind as well as friendly.

Well you have certainly picked the best brain to pick! We can’t thank Julie enough for breeding the most tremendous dogs and giving us the best advice. She must have thought Matt and I were overly nervous puppy parents when we called and emailed her with various questions for the first few months of DeNiro’s life. Whichever pup Julie chooses for you will work out perfectly, there’s no doubt about that!

I had so much fun! Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures. The Woods family visited and they an absolute delight. Julia and Luke are keepers!

I am glad you had fun Julie, I certainly did!

I’m glad I was able to get some half way decent photographs to add to the blog. I felt the pressure was on when you realized you didn’t have a disc in the camera. I just told Carole, both your and Carole’s photographs humble me into realizing I have such a long way to go.

Great pictures Andrea, we really enjoyed seeing you, but let Matt know we missed him, hopefully next time.
Al and I sure enjoyed our time with all of you. Julie, you are absolutely correct as usual about Luke and Julie. I can’t think of better people to receive one of your pups, and join the AT club!
Thank you for letting us join in the puppy party!

Thanks Karen. Matt is feeling a bit better today, but was still wiped out yesterday.

You’re right, The Woods family was lovely and if they don’t get a pup from this litter, I hope they can wait for the next. They would definitely make great additions to the AT family!

Matt and I knew at some point we would love to get another AT pup and after NASS and learning a bit more about the sport of Schutzhund, I became hooked.

The Double Dog Dare? Absolutely, that pushed me to ask Julie if we could take a female S pup to train towards Schutzhund titles. If it hadn’t been for your DDD Matt and I still maybe just dreaming. We owe you a huge HUG, (once your ribs heal tht is!)!

This is as good as the pre-whelping expression photos. Her frame of mind sure is in her expressions.
