Hey Everyone. Well don’t expect 2 blog updates in one week forever on. We just bought two Canon T2i’s for business ( I work on music for media) and I am trying to learn the ins and outs. What better subject then this cute little puppy I have?
Anyway these pictures were taken using the 50 mm lens which apparently is better for medium to low light and portrait work. I am getting quite used to this little guy now. We had a fun training session today working on “come” and “sit”. For come I am trying to get him to respond to a certain high pitched whistle I do, my voice doesn’t carry very far because it’s kind of deep. For “sit” we are working on the usual hand gesture up over the nose. He’s taking very well to it. We are having a little trouble with “down” he gets so excited I have to kind of meld him into position. Anyway we are working on our assignments for puppy manners class. I’m also most likely going to get a personal (dog) trainer to just instruct me on the ways of proper tutelage. Pickett has a really fun personality, play, rest and food. He loves to lay outside with me in the sun – even at night!
Hi, Michael–he is such a beautiful little guy! (But not little for long!)
Love his expressions. You can tell he is an A-T dog-already posing for the camera!
Just to help you with your job, we will need many, many postings of puppy pix taken with your new camera! Very cute photos, thank you for sharing.
What a great start to the day–thank you!
Yes it is!
Nice pics, please post more photos at every chance you get. These guys grow up so fast, that one day you look at them , and say..Where did my puppy go?
Oh my gosh I just realized that Pickett forgot his chaperon. Can you pick me up at LAX at say 4:00 today? HEHEHEHE
Watch out Michael you are spoiling us, we will just want more and more. I think we need a picture of you and Pickett together so we can see the two cuties together. 🙂
There is nothing like one-on-one training, having one person focused just on you and the dog is great. Do you have any leads on good trainers?
You reminded me that I want to start working on a video library on teaching different things, again it is on my list.
Now is the time to teach down, make it fun and snappy and they will never forget it.
@Carole
Carole, I only have a kodak easy share camera. Does that boot me out of the puppy club?
We don’t care if you are using a Brownie—as long as we get pictures!
I forgot to mention….there are several people here that would be delighted to fly out and help you with training. Then after they visit you they could head up to San Fran and help Rajiv with some show-ring training. Yeah… perfect!
Since I’m from CA, I think it would only be right for me to go.
