We picked up some fresh berries this weekend so I had the urge to make crepes. If you use the Alton Brown method they are super easy – and the recipe makes enough that I can have the rest of them all week long!
Happy Six Month Birthday to the N-Litter!!!!
Because it was his special day, Nuke got to eat the first crepe (okay, so the first crepe never turns out and has to be tossed anyway – but he loved it!) and later I left him lick the whipped cream bowl:
After that we piled into the car and headed up to Blue Mountain for a birthday hike in the foggy soggy weather. Fortunately the rain stopped right as we arrived, so we had a great time. 🙂
There was some serious fog cover out there when we arrived.
… but after awhile the sun broke through and burned most of it away.
Interestingly, Nuke’s entire attitude underwent a dramatic change about a week ago. I suspect it’s because he’s FINALLY done teething. It just seemed like overnight he settled down, started sleeping 9 hours straight through the night, stopped chewing on Unauthorized Chewing Objects, and just generally learned some manners.
We have started giving him the run of the house at night instead of locking him in his crate and we haven’t had a single negative consequence. His attention span has also improved so that I feel like obedience is not a constant battle. It’s really nice to suddenly be living with Angel Dog again. 🙂
YUMMMM!!!! All I can think of when I see his expression licking that bowl, is him singing :I’m IN
Heaven!!!!
Happy birthday Nuke (you handsome boy) and the rest of the “N” pups. What a beautiful place to go for a hike.
I love crepes! I always replace a Tblsp on water in batter with a Tblsp of Rum. My travel plans grow: Cape Cod, Sand Diego, and Missoula. Such beautiful pictures and I think blue Mountain was well names. I am glad Nuke is back to being the angel dog, German Shepherd puppies are not easy to raise and the teething process is very stressful for everyone.
Julie, no wonder I’ve thought your crepes were the best I’ve ever had—the booze did it.
OK, now I believe a road trip is in order. We must compare your crepes with Stacy’s! Now what is Stacy’s address? Oh heck, we’ll just head to Blue Mountain—I’m sure we’ll find her!
Mmm, those crepes look delicious! And what lovely pictures of Nuke and the mountain!
yummy!! Beautiful pics!
Stacy, I was just thing about you and Nuke yesterday! Good to see you here and to know that your angel dog returned. Happy 6 months to the N-kids!
You mean we have only one more month to go?
Hey Stacy can you make it a double batch????? hhehehehehe
