Sorry guys! No pictures.. 🙁 I think that Monday of the trial was the best. Nina finished the weekend undefeated.. all 1st places!! Whata girlie! Allie also did really good, but slowing down towards the end of the trial. I think that Allie qualified in all of the classes on Monday with three 1st, a 2nd, and a 3rd. I think that Allie did really good for her Momma Julie not being there!
Lynn, my Border Collie and I were going to do a little herding today, but the weather had another idea. Our class was at 1, and the wind chill was freezing! We are going to go on Thursday instead.. Poor Lynn, she really needs to work some sheep!!
This picture was taken when Lynn was still in Kansas. She was born on a ranch, so working sheep was her job.. Then she moved to Michigan, and up here we have to drive over an hour to let her work sheep!
Congratulations on the great weekend!
Thanks Carole!
Sounds like you had a terrific weekend! I love herding and would like to get more involved with Pieka someday. Supposedly there are some folks in our area that do tending-style herding.
Jamie,
If you are going to any herding clinics or anything in your area could you please let me know? I would love to try herding with Ivan too. There is nothing around here and it might be worth driving up your way if there is an event/training you were going to with Pieka.
Thanks,
Lynda
Lynda, I’d be happy to do that. Pieka and I took herding lessons for awhile in Ohio – but I found out quickly that you really need someone who understands German Shepherds. They just don’t herd like border collies.
I doubt that we’ll have the time to get involved in herding soon, but I hear that Susan Sullivan is the person to go to in New England for GSDs.
Thank you Monica for taking Allie to the agility trial for me when I was out of town. Allie loves you…ok all my dogs love you….I am sure she had a great time.
Your welcome Julie, Allie had a good time!
Congratulations again Monica. Sounds like you had a super and successful weekend.
Congratulations Monica! What a Christmas present!
