Does anyone have any good suggestions for dog toys for Millie? Yesterday she managed to destroy two of her favorites, along with the Jollyball that she demolished last week!

These are not really toys, but Brady likes to chew antlers. He has had deer, elk, and he loves the moose antlers. He also likes beef knuckles and will spend hours chewing on them. Brady has a few Planet Dog balls and they have held up well. Good Luck in your search.

We have 2 toys one is a pull toy on a heavy rope and one is in the shape of a bone, that are blue and feel like rubber. So far, they are holding up very well to Kapone and Sabree, and they have access to them all the time. They have had these since the week after NASS!
Andrea and Matt can tell you what kind they are, as I didn’t keep the tag.
We also give raw bones and antlers, the dogs all love them!
I don’t want to hijack this thread – on the same topic of toys. Where do you find the reward balls used in Schutzhund training? I know Petsmart isn’t the answer. Google hasn’t been too good to me either, balls isn’t a good search term.
We ordered Isa’s reward balls at elitek9.com. I think she would love the antlers–what needs to be done to them if we find them? Do they need to be washed, or treated in any way? And could they present any sort of choking hazard?

Thanks for the suggestions. Where do you find the antlers?
And Dave, we found Millie’s ball at planetdog.com.
Antlers can be found in apple orchards when the snow melts. March is usually a good time. You have to find them before the rodents eat them (minerals)I found 6 last year. It’s called ‘shed hunting.’ Some hunters might be willing to give up or sell antlers. I hear they are expansive.

We purchased antlers from Julie the last time. Michelle where did you get moose antlers?
I get my antlers from Green Dog in Fort Wayne, IN. It’s a great little store that only sells the best food, treats, and toys.

I keep telling my father that he needs to start a cottage industry with the antlers – we find the darn things all over the place at our farm. We usually cut them into longer bits, so there is no real choking hazard. We do wash them thoroughly and let them dry in the sun.
My dogs like them, they don’t LOVE them.

The toys that Karen and Al mentined are the JW Pet Megalast Ball and Bones plus the Ball on a Rope (all are made in the USA). Another line of USA made rubber toys which for me at least is GSD proof, is Kong rubber. The black Kong rubber is actually the strongest, although my ACD and GSD have never destroyed the red Kong toys either. Kong has a new line of USA made toys, the Genius line. Both my dogs love the Leo Genius (looks like a bottle with areas at the bottom, top and middle to stuff treats). If the rubber toys alone don’t interest Millie try putting Peanut Butter and treats inside them. That will keep her busy for quite a long time.

Andrea I’m glad you mentioned the Leo Genius, I need to go on the hunt for that one, I forgot about it.
Hallmark K9 and Dogsport Gear are also good. But don’t worry about it for awhile keep trading up until you are ready for an adult size.
