We love Via. I needed a puppy who will grow into a dog that is (in order of importance to me)
1. Is interested enough in children to work for a child
2. Is not reactive to dogs OR to people
3. Is biddable
4. Is social but not pushy about it
5. Is bold, out going, stable
Basically, I need to raise a bomb proof dog who will work for a child and be a demo dog and bait dog when I am teaching classes or conducting reactive dog workshops.
Several of my dog training friends told me that I am crazy to pick a German Shepherd dog. One even suggested that I get an English-bred golden retriever or lab. I like herding dogs, and GSDs in particular. I also knew just which breeder I’d be getting my puppy from.
Thank you, Julie for sharing her with us.
Robin is also doing a blog documenting raising her puppy. Her blog is loaded with information including detailed training sessions and puppy raising tips. If you are looking for some structure in training your puppy follow Robin’s blog and train along with her.
