My husband and I will soon be welcoming one of O’Stara’s male pups to our home in the next week. I have been talking about getting a dog for over a year now, and everyone at work has been excitedly following along in my search. I shared puppy pictures with them last week and now they’re all counting down to arrival with us. Today, they threw me a surprise puppy shower! 🙂
The stack of papers was a puppy name contest. Everyone wrote down their suggestions and we drew names for prizes. There were also little cupcakes with sugar dog bones on top!
And a gigantic toy basket filled with some useful little things and some fun little things:
My co-workers are awesome. I was really touched by their generosity. Beware LDT peeps – you will soon be flooded with photos of our new dog and will get tired of all my posts!

I drew two names for the prizes and they were Galahad and Barnabas. John and I haven’t decided on a call name yet – we figure we’ll know after we meet him! The frontrunner right now is Rico. I like “Colonel Pancake”, but I keep getting shot down on that one. On the other hand, John likes “Nuke” for his on-paper-N-name. I told him this would lead to me calling the puppy “nookie” but he still likes it anyway!
I like Nuke too, and Nookie is cute.

That is such a cool idea for a shower. Very nice friends to have. Nuke is such a coool name!
Has anyone here EVER complained about too many puppy pix? Or too many pictures of the older dogs? Have that camera out when he arrives, and then keep going.

Don’t worry, I take tons of pics of EVERYTHING. Even pictures of the food I eat! So there will be lots.
The grocery store made the cupcakes. 🙂 I think the woman who organized the party special ordered them with the bones. But my basket came with a bone-shaped cookie cutter!
