The 2010 WDA Schutzhund Nationals was so much fun. As a friend of mine said to me, “Julie this is your first trip all year you have come home and saying you had a great time.” It is true, great competition, great friends, super dogs, it was a blast!!! We had the pleasure of being the official photographers for the event, Carole, Al & Karen Sessions, and I covered the event. Ron joined us but didn’t take a single picture, however, he and Nero were used as the demo team on both Friday and Saturday in protection and obedience. This first picture is Nero’s long-bite.
Another long bite of Derry de Renaudloup SchH3, handled by Cliff Benjamin. Judge Heiko Grube from Germany to the left. He was a super judge. A competitor could have had the worst routine of his life and after Herr Grube critiqued the performance the competitor would receive and honest evaluation, balanced with praise. The critiques were a valuable learning tool for all and the competitor would leave the field feeling good.
Competitor Rhonda Southern and her dog Bac von der Siebengebirgsperle SchH3
This picture of me was taken by Karen Sessions, and you know I like it if I actually post it!
I put that pic of Nero on our web site
OK, Julie, where did you get that jacket? You look great, and it does too!
Ron and Nero did a great job, that poor dog got his workout.
The Judge was awesome, if I ever have to have a judge I would want it to be some one just like him. His philosophy was to encourage people. And he was very fair in his judging.
Rhonda and Bac were a great team.
I just have to mention the helper Charlie, in this photo, he was on top of his game. There was a dog that was heading for the judge and he took off across the field to intercept and caught the dog for the long bite. If he had gotten to the judge, it would not have been pretty I am sure. Great Job Charlie!
