Oh my gosh Winter is just beginning and I am already feeling the need for green. So, I am pulling out a few pictures from my trip to the BLH (Bundesleistungshüten) competition in Stettbach Germany. This first picture is Yuardo vom Kirschental, a young male owned and bred by Karl Fuller, and a half brother to Allie – Vallie vomHaus Kirschental. Yuardo is sired by Sherry vom Kirschental, owned by Karen Priest. Yurado is herding in the manner typical of German Shepherd Dogs acting as a moving fence, keeping the boundry where the Shepherd (as in the human variety) wants the sheep contained.
Karen Priest with “Bobby” a German Shepherd, again of the human variety. Karen is wearing Bobby’s shepherd coat. He said she needed to wear it while she worked the sheep, as they would know the difference. Bobby was such a character, both karen and I wanted to bring him home with us. You can see Bobby’s shepherd staff off to the right. Karen borrowed one of Karl Fuller’s when she worked the sheep because the airlines wanted $300 to put her staff into baggage! If Karen hadn’t given Karl’s shepherd staff back, I would have paid the $300 to bring it home with me.
Karen’s husband is a Massachusetts State trooper and he sent a couple of State Police decals with Karen to give to German Polizei. Karen gave a patch to this Polizei and he returned the next day with one of his decals for Karen. Look their uniforms are green!
The day after the BLH, was a HGH test. This was taken during Bobby’s HGH test with a new dog. Bobby has been a past Sieger winner at the BLH. I hope you enjoyed seeing the green as much as did. Is there any question why green is my favorite color?
Great photos and great hats! The Shepherd’s outfits are really cool.
