I had Ekko out at Lake Michigan, Good Harbor Bay, a few weeks ago, so before I start to see snow in my photos, I thought I’d post a couple of a morning at the beach.
I wish I could paddle my canoe as fast.
Some of my firewood.
If you stare at something hard enough, somebody will throw it.
And a last shake before we head home.
Wonderful pictures! I absolutely love the first picture! Thank you Garth.
Garth, you definitely have a German Water Dog! That first shot is fantastic!
Great pics! I love that area and Good Harbor Bay so much, haven’t been up there since our honeymoon though. I hate Michigan but I think I could be happy living up there!
Hi, Garth and everyone! I’m Jil, and my husband and 4 children and I live about 5 miles from Good Harbor Bay. I’ve been reading LDT for the last year-and-a-half, as we anxiously yet patiently wait for a pup from Julie. Garth, I’m wondering whether you might be the same Garth who used to work at EMS? (There aren’t many Garths around–although my husband’s name is Garth also!) I’ve gathered from entries over time that you and your wife must live near Traverse City. Your pictures of Ekko in Lake Michigan are great. The one with the firewood cracks me up!
Jil, you have been very patient waiting for a puppy! Both Funny and Allie have been bred ( thanks to CArole) and hopefully they will both be pregnant.
Julie, Carol -thanks for the comments. Those were the last photos from the cheapo Nikon P&S camera. The photo of the last shake got sand in the lens and caused a fatal error that costs more to fix than replace.
Ekko is definitely not a camera ham, but he LOVES the water. Ekko will retrieve sticks from the water as long as my arm holds out. By fall most all of the burnable sticks have been scoured from the beach for bonfires, so I grab a piece of firewood to toss.
Lies – it’s great living in the TC area, I’ve lived in St. Paul, Kazoo, GR, and the UP, but it’s here I want to live. If you don’t mind snowy winters, it’s the place to be.
Jil – I live south of Cedar, so it’s pretty close to Good Harbor Bay. I’m not that Garth (from EMS), but I know him. I don’t ever regret getting two of Julies’ pups. I can’t think of a day when they don’t do something that makes me smile.
Garth this is the perfect opportunity to move up to a Nikon DSLR!!! Have fun shopping—if you need any tips, Julie is an expert!
Great pictures, Garth! Ekko is a very handsome guy…and certainly carries on the water loving tradition.
