Way to go!! Congrats to you both. Rafe is a very cool looking dog – what a great expression on his face. Who are his parents? Are you the origami Ann? If yes, the origami shepherd is wonderful.
Congratulations Ann and Rafe!!!! A lot of training and effort clocked to earn those initials. Interesting UKC has you put the UD in front of the name. Is it considered something like an obedience championship?
As I recall, the UKC explanation for putting the title in front of the
name is that performance is just as important as beauty.
It does not indicate the equivalent of UDX, because UKC also has an
equivalent title for that, just harder (not only does the dog have to
pass both Open and Utility at the same show ten times, but the scores
must average out to a set number or higher–I should know the number,
but I haven’t looked at it seriously, since at two shows a year Rafe
probably won’t live long enough to have a chance at it, even if he
qualified every time he showed). There is also a UKC OTCH and
GrandOTCH. No shortage of things to try for, and next time I hope
work won’t get in the way quite so regularly.

I hope that Most Handsome Dog has received a new soccer ball as his great reward. Great job, Ann & Rafe!!! Howie sends his woofs!
