I thought if I could help one person learn from my mistake it will be worth it. I gave Wally an old toy with strings hanging from it. It is a stuffed toy with two ropes on the side for arms. Well both ropes were well chewed and they were frayed. It looked like the toy had dreads. I thought if I watch him he should be ok with it. Wrong. In like a span of 5 minutes he ate all of the rope on one side. Well last night he started to puke. So we rush him to the vets this morning for an x-ray. The vet couldn’t see anything so the poor pup had to be cut open for exploratory surgery. So now because of my mistake my sweet puppy is at the vets with a sliced up tummy and God knows how long of a slice on his chest. So please learn from my mistake and watch what goes into your dogs mouth because you just never know.

Poor Wally—I hope he’s feeling better soon!
Wally is as high as a kite in that first picture. I swear he saw the words coming out of mouth. He is about 70-80% back to normal. He isn’t playing with toys all that much. Now he has a big bruise next to his cut but Dan says it’s raw from his licking it. So I am still worried about the little guy. Thanks Carole and thanks Julie for posting this.
Please keep us posted on his progress. No toys for Wally! 😉
I can not believe this dog. He went from sweet puppy to dog. We were gone for an hour and the bugger got in the trash and ate the raw chicken scraps from last nights dinner. I know he had some because I saw some of the wrapper while on poo patrol. Charlie probably had a mouthful of chicken and lectured Wally in between bites on how he did a no no and is gonna be in big trouble. munch munch.
