You guys are going to be sick of Pieka pictures! After tracking, we went hiking at the metropark.
I was telling Julie about a wonderful invention, the RuffWear “Swamp Cooler.” It is a cooling vest for dogs. You soak it in cold water, wring it out, put it on the dog…it reflects light away and wicks away heat. It works. I can put my hand under the vest and feel how cool Pieka’s fur stays. With her coat, Pieka is prone to overheating easily, this coat does help noticeably. She still gets warm, of course, but it does help.

We did order it from Ruff Wear (I think…Shane actually ordered it). It was a little pricey, but I swear it was worth it.
I know several people on the agility circuit that use this vest regularly.

I think it says it’s $45, but like Jaime said it is well worth it! They’ve also got other Ruff Wear products like float coats, boots, safety beacons etc.
