I should mention that is not Ziggy in the photo with the kids. Ziggy stayed in the background keeping guard.

LOL! he is quite prolific.
Is that one batch of turkeys? I didn’t know they had so many!
Yep, one batch of turkeys! A hen will lay between 12-14 eggs. Ziggy was out with two of his girls and their chicks. The other batch stayed closer to Ziggy.
Now that I know the chicks are moving about, I’ll be better prepared next time. Since Ziggy is so handsome, I expect to see quite a few groups of chicks this year.

I love this photo, Carole. Mama looks so proud of her babies. You have a lot of photo catch up to do now that you are home sweet home again. Keep ’em coming, please!
If you think Mama looks proud, you should have seen Ziggy strutting his stuff! I was surprised to see him with his chicks—usually the males are banished and the females take care of one another. Margot, your Ziggy is a very special guy.
As more chicks hatch, I’ll see if I can capture the hens in “Guardian” mode—it is very interesting.
I had better get my field mowed or you’ll never see the chicks in the tall grass!
