Thank you for the photos, Julie. Beautiful head shot of Amaro!
I am assuming these photographs are in Germany. If you don’t mind me askng, what is Allie doing over there? I hope all is well.
Just had to drop you a note because I was talking to a good friend, Terri Bennett (she owns Specialty Pet in Plymouth)today. A couple of weeks ago I had been telling her all about DeNiro and the beautiful dogs you have. She used to have GSDs so was interested to hear all about you. I apologise for being totally oblivious, but when I gave her more details, she went into great raptures about Dr Mostosky and said “Not THE Dr Mostosky, omg!!!”
Anyway, to cut a long story short when I was talking with her today she told me that she had mentioned to her vet Ben Kolmary that I had bought a dog form you and he said he was one of Mos’ students! Aparently Dr Kolmary performed one of his first root canals on Terri’s GSD when he had his practice on Zeeb Road in Ann Arbor.
What a small world!!!
Mos will be delighted to hear that women are going into raptures at the mention of his name. 😉 Both Mos and Dr. Kolmary are established experts in their fields. MSU Vet school use to turn out some good ones.
I brought Allie over to Margret for Margret to train her and put on Allie’s German titles. I did not want to just put her on a plane so I went with her. it was a very hard thing to do. But I did not get it done myself and did not see myself accomplishing it soon. I keep telling myself it will be good for her.
Julie,
It will be hard as you miss Allie over the next few months but as the classic saying goes “absence will make the hearts grow fonder”. NOT!!!
I am sure Allie will do well there and make Mama (and everyone else here) proud of her upon her return home to you.
Bernard
Allie is very spoiled —my fault— I think her boarding school experience will be good for her.
We all have permission to spoil at least one of our dogs. 🙂
Allie will take it all in stride and return a bit more disciplined, but it will take only a second to LOVE being spoiled again. What type of oil is in the bottle? How much do they give, etc. Also, what food do they feed?? Welcome back!
It is thistle oil, just a tsp for the coat and skin. have you ever heard of thistle oil? She was feeding Royal Canin…it seems to be one of the most popular in Germany.
Julie after reading this blog since we got involved with you when we got Sabree I have read about several vets that Mos taught over the years, our vet included, He definately has been an assett in this area of vet medicine.
When we seen you briefly Monday before class and you talked about “the look” Allie gave you when you left her, I could see in your face it wasn’t easy for you to leave her. We left for a trip and got 15 minutes down the road with me bawling my eyes out all the way shortly after we got one of our other puppies, Al ended up turning around and going back and getting her and she went with us. It wasn’t my fault I couldn’t turn off the water works, it was “the look” she gave me when we walked out. Germany may have been a different story, Al may have thrown me out of the plane for that one hahha.
Missed you at class Monday, hope your well rested now.
Al is a great man, he might end up giving Joe a run for his “perfect man” title.
